Here are the instructions for the Slow Scrap.
Pages are due by 7 PM EDT (8 hours after scrap is over). Easy Breezy, right?
Be sure to put them in the Speed Scrap Gallery and in THIS THREAD to be eligible for the prize.
1. Start with a light neutral background. Lightly patterned or solid. Then add several more smaller "light-ish" colored papers stacked across the middle of the page, mostly squares or large rectangles. These will serve as the matting for your photo.
2. Add a split photo to the left of the page, over some of the paper stacks. So, you will have an area/mask for 2 photo spots, but will only use one photo. The masks should be the approximate shape of a vertical JC and can have teeny white mats/borders. (The easiest way to do this is to copy the same photo over both clipping masks and clip them each on.)
NOTE: I will post a quick tutorial on this after the Scrap. *update... tutorial on clipping masks HERE* *tutorial on split photos still uploading. sigh*
3. On the right side of the page, in line with your split photo but separated by some space, add another photo or a journal card.
4. Layer a couple of doilies in between your paper stacks.
5. Add a few flowers and/or elements in front of the stacks/photo and some between the stacks. Here's where you can add a pop of color if you want.
6. Add paint splatter or brushes/doodles, etc, on the bottom layer. Another way to add color if desired.
7. Add a title beneath the photo, add any journaling you want and your shadows.
I'll add the inspiration page after 7 PM. Can't wait to see your pages!
Here's the page I used as inspiration. I LOVE all of the takes on this.
