Love em or hate em?

Right now it's raining outside and I'm loving it. Windows open, I'm the only one awake, fresh cup of coffee - good times.

I hardly ever MIND the rain unless I'm caught out in a monsoon. I don't even mind it when I'm running as long as it's not 35° as well.

I used to hate rainy days with a passion when I was little and even in my 20s and 30s... it went on into my 40s, especially because of the kind (and amount!!!) of rain we have here in the UK....but in 2006 I got a Nikon DSLR...and a week later I was trapped in my car and in serious rain in the back of our High Street.....and I discovered a new side of rain that fascinates me and still does....
Thing is, I'm not sure if I would be loving it if I had to go to work...
Love rain & snow providing I don't need to stay out longer than strictly necessary....

I'm okay with them, particularly if I can stay inside. Where we used to live, it rained 300 days a year, and I HATED it. Now, we get 300 days of sun, so I'm okay with the rainy days, especially if it's a good hard storm. Love those!

I don't mind a good rain, but I'd rather it's during the week when I have to work anyway. On the weekend we want to get outside and play! :)

My sister was on vacation a few weeks ago in North Carolina when a hurricane passed directly over them in the Outer Banks, my husband was jealous. He loves severe weather!

I would be highly annoyed if a hurricane came during my vacation. LOL

i usually don't mind ... but today we had a lake trip planned with friends and it is rainy and super cloudy. so we are scrambling to find alternate plans indoors. i love listening to the rain with coffee and a quiet house too.

Karen, did they get to stay on the island? we had to evacuate NC/OBX a few years ago bc of a hurricane that turned out to be nothing... and then, was it 2 years ago, we got delayed by 2 days for an OBX vacation due to another hurricane. and that is a huge let down. this year the hurricanes of NC seem to be earlier ...

I have a love/hate relationship with rainy days. I love how relaxing they can be, with no pressure to get out and do things. They make me want to curl up with a good book and just laze the day away. The hate part comes into play because they also take away my will to get anything accomplished...and if there are things I need to do, that's not a good thing.

It really depends on what I have going on that day. If the day is flexible and I can come and go as the rain lightens up, I love a rainy day. If I have to be out a lot or at the beach or if it's a school day and makes us have inside recess... I hate it. Ha!

They didn't have to go anywhere. They were told it would be no big deal and to stay put. Thankfully there wasn't any damage and the storm went over them at night. I think it was a category 2 storm.

we had rain here too! and that is so rare! I had to work on the sprinklers...so it was raining and my sprinklers were on! hahhah..as I was fixing one of the zones...it was spraying about 20 feet in air, my lab is next to me attacking the water...and animal control walks up? I am like, dude, it is raining, she is a lab and right with me? who called? lol
he was nice, my sprinklers are now fixed and no ticket...and it is humid and nasty out there now! no more rain!

It's a mixed bag for me. I love the rain for my garden and to have a bit of a down day if it is summer and I need to get cleaning down inside (I hate being inside cleaning when it is gorgeous outside!). I also like it if it gets rid of humidity.

But the downer is times like now, when the downpouring rain and bad weather cause a transformer to blow...seems to happen too often around here - like now! I finally got power a bit ago courtesy of my hubby turning on our generator. Power has been out for 3+ hours now so we turned it on. Power company has no idea when it will get restored so we had to resort to the generator.
