Pad Patter 6/8: Personal/Creative Blogging

I have a blog. not very exciting tho. I've just given it a makeover, so I'll have to read up on writing blog posts so I don't bore any more than necessary lol.

I was going to attempt to blog but then I realized how pretty boring my life is PLUS when I think about the girl who tried to steal my husband, I refuse to share too much on open blogging. Always think about who is paying attention!!!!

My blog is mostly neglected. Every now and then I remember to post some scrapbook layouts or I'm inspired to write something. I do like to use it to sum up things like vacations - because I then use that as journaling on my pages, but I've been slacking!

Funny thing, I just visited my personal blog today for the first time in months. And it's been a couple of years since I consistently posted. I went back into the archives and honestly, I had mixed feelings. I CRINGE when I read some of the entries - not so much what I wrote, but my writing style. I'm not super comfortable with it. On the other hand, though, I love that I've got so many moments of our lives documented and it makes me sad the last couple of years aren't documented in the same way. But you're right, I now spend SO much time of FB, Instagram and other sites that just weren't part of my life back then. And sadly, there isn't more time in the day. Also, doing PL I feel like a lot of those things ARE getting documented, just in a different way. I do have a scrapbook blog I post things to regularly, although I don't think it gets much traffic. :/

Lynnette, I cringe at the things I blog-rant about. So ... so ... washing-dirty-linen-in-the-public types. Bwahahahaha !!!!

I don't keep my blog updated consistently. I don't think I'm interesting enough and my blog is boring. I do better with fb.

I have a blog or two. I blog regularly on one of my layouts and testing on the other my Projekt365. I'm doing this for years sometimes more, sometimes less.

oOoh! I LOVE it, Jen! You've done an absolutely fabulous job with it! And you've given me the kick in the pants that I needed to get mine back up and going, i.e. finish my move to WP. :) :)

Jen, it looks great!

FYI: in Firefox, the About page logos at the bottom barely overlap your text.

Your blog looks great, Jen!!!!

I love blogging! I have a personal blog and I put everything there. I have layouts posted there, some ministry type-stuff (devotional posts) and just personal family posts. I view my blog as a way to share my life. We live away from family, so it has been really great to connect with family through my blog posts. My in-laws aren't on FB either, and they really appreciate being able to see the kids grow up through my posts. I'm not so good about e-mailing or sending pictures, so my blog has been the best way to keep them in touch with our lives. But I have also connected with other bloggers and have really come to love the community that I've found in blogging. Here's a link to my blog if you'd like to check it out. http://www.dailydwelling.com/

Oh no. I looked at it in chrome, safari and firefox and it looks good to me. I wonder if it's the screen size. I'll play with the mobile optimization. Maybe that will help.

I'm glad to read everyone has a bit the same experience as me: social media have kind of overtaken blogs these days. But I like to keep mine alive, right now with only my layouts.
But it feels great to know I would be able to get back to my little 'home' on the net when I feel like writing more things.

I am kind of asking myself how many people are actually reading blogposts nowadays, but it's also helpful just to write things down sometimes and send them to the world.
