Hi! I recently switch over to digital scrapbooking and I am loving it much better!

I mostly do monthly 2, 4, or 6 page spread for Project Life and I just printed my 2013 "Family Yearbook".

I want to begin working on my daughter's books and I am currently finishing my son's 1st year album.

My problem: I want my daughter (she is 7) to have her own family yearbook AND her own individual books that I plan on having her school stuff, grade cards, certificate, sports stuff in. I feel like some of the pictures will be duplicates from the "Family Yearbooks" to her individual books. Am I overthinking/overreacting that this will happen or is it ok?

I would love to hear how any one else does inidvidual kids books and their family "yearbooks"!

The great thing about digital is that you can print as many copies of the same page as you want.. I do individual books for my two boys, and the theory is that I'll also do a family book - still working on that, lol.. I can include the same page in all three books if it applies.. For example, if we take an awesome family vacation somewhere, I can include the majority of those pages in the family book, but then maybe pull out 1 or 2 that highlight something that individual child loved and experienced to include in his.. Does that make sense?

Oh - another awesome thing about digital is you can use the same page, but tweak it for each kid.. Here's an example from when my second was born and his older brother met him for the first time..

For the baby's book.. softer, journaling focused in him..

for the older brother.. more "boy" less "baby".. switch out the "little brother" element for the "big brother" one .. journaling focused on his point of view.. wham! two pages in one! :)

Thank you! It makes complete sense to me! I overthink EVERYTHING and I love hearing from others that have the same/general idea as me and that it works for them too. I will keep doing my family yearbooks and if duplicate pictures show up in my daughters books, I am not going to stress over it.

My husband also seems to think that I don't need to print our family yearbook for every child to have one but I disagree!

Yep, I would say the same. If you want to include the same layout in more than one book, go for it! Also, if you want to reuse a photo that is in her book and the family book, I say there's not a single thing wrong with that!
