Pad Patter 2/15: Iced coffee?

I'll drink iced coffee, but the ice waters it down too quickly. And I'll admit to finishing off a cup of coffee I've left on the counter several hours after I've set it down because I forgot about it.

I'm not a coffee person but I don't mind iced coffee (or coffee icecream - mmm). My eldest son loves iced coffee, insisted on ordering it when we were in Vietnam - but they just make the coffee and then put ice cubes in it to cool it down. He kept ordering it and was constantly in hope that he would get a more western style drink but to no avail. He still drank them all though.

Yep - even when it's cold outside! When I use to brew a full pot after I had one cup of hot coffee, many times around noon I would use the leftover coffee and pour it over ice with a little flavored cream and sip that in the afternoon - is that gross?! Now I use the Keurig machine and visit Starbucks way to often... Kind of miss brewing a whole pot...

Funny thing - iced coffee gives me hellacious heartburn. Like the absolute worst pain imaginable. Not sure why, because regular coffe is just fine.

I wonder if it is the flavoring they are using. My starbucks will use "light" peppermint one for the iced ones and it contains Maltitol and that thing is like a stomach bomb for me.

I don't like iced coffee… it has to be hot. Unless it's in the form of a frappuccino. ;)
Never!! To me, coffee is meant to be hot!

You gals sound like my husband.

I don't drink coffee AT ALL, Dalis. Can you believe it?!

Really? What do you drink to keep yourself awake?

Yes, and I love it at Dunkin Donuts. I drink it more often in summer than winter, but I love it always.

I was actually surprised how good DD's iced latte was.

Now you are making me crave a carmel frappacino from McDonald's and the closest one is 30 minutes away!!!

WHAT, 30 mins? We have one here in every corner, ok, not every corner is more like: McDonalds, Starbucks, Walgreens... so every 3 corners. LOL!!!

Anytime of year!

Although I have to travel into town for one, so I don't have one as regularly as I would like LOL

Julie - you could use some of your leftover coffee and make coffee ice cubes - voila - never watered down! :) (and i have been known to finish off cold coffee too)
