So, my 12 year old is having trouble remembering his 5 digit lunch code for school. It's 71621. So I was trying to be helpful this morning.

Here's my memory tool for this number, which I shared with him...

Mom: "7 is lucky.
16 and 21 are both "big" birthdays b/c at 16 you can drive and at 21 you can... ummm..."

Jake: "Drink?"

Mom: Sputter, sputter over his laughter at my obvious halt in the train of thought... "Well, yes. Just use it as a tool to remember the number and not as an endorsement of alcohol." :giggle

Don't they take their code with them throughout? Mine get it in K and it's the same one through HS. lol

But hey, don't sweat it, he'll remember now. :giggle

Oh, I wish! Our codes change every school year. Four kids. Five digits each. I have to write them in their folders for the 1st couple of weeks and pray for honest classmates, LOL.

oh this made me giggle. :giggle

We too have the same codes. Well, so far through elementary at least.

We don't have lockers in elementary school, but Jen, don't worry he will never forget this number.

LOL! Too funny. Our school as the same code since kindergarten too. It's good for my boys & for me!

Ha ha! That's so funny! I'm sure he'll remember it now!

The funny thing is, that you can tell we go to a REALLY small school... I didn't even know what a lunch code was. We don't have them.

LOL! That's funny... sounds like something I would say too! :-)

Ours are the same through HS, too. And it's become his code to get into our house, his PIN for his phone and iPod, etc. It'll probably be his PIN for the rest of his life at this point because why memorize a new number?

UGH. Now I'm envious of all you one-coders. Geez! :) Oh, and sweet boy still forgot the code today. That's my Jake. He said he'd just write it on his hand for a while, LOL.

omg, we have the same code throughout as well. that is awful they have to learn a new one each year. seems a waste that they go through the trouble making them up as well. i loved your thought process on helping him learn his...lol. he will definitely remember now.
