Ever 'find' anything cool? Money? Other treasures?

I can't think of anything amazing I've ever found. Once when I was 11, I found $11 on the ferry that took you to and from Bob Lo amusement park. I thought that was a super lot of money.

A couple years ago I was out for a run with no water and it was humid and I was about to croak when I found $1. I thought it was God sending me water, but as it turns out, you can't buy water for $1. Thankfully, He also sent me the nice lady at the gas station that gave me a cup and let me help myself to the water at the soda fountain. :giggle

Other than that, nothing comes to mind. How about you?

I actually found $60 while running one day.... I looked around and no one was in sight. So, I kept it. If I had posted anywhere that I found $60 I would have had every Tom, Dick or Harry knocking on my door... BUT, I did end up buying some chocolate bars from neighbourhood kids with some of it. ;)

I'm not as lucky in finding things but my son is BIG TIME. He's found money several times. And once at the grocery store, we were getting back into the store & he picked up a lottery ticket. I blasted him for touching it & he said mom, I think it's a winner. NO WAY. I looked closely & yup he won $20. Who would drop a winning ticket. So we marched back in, cashed it & he smiled all the way home.

I found my hubby or I should say he found me, I think that's lucky. I was in a bad place and a bad relationship and he and my roommate pulled me out.

That does sound lucky, Dalis. (((hugs)))

Nothing springs to mind for me, although our house is in such chaos sometimes, that I consider myself lucky anytime I can find anything around here. :giggle I recently found DD's Nintendo DS charger that had been missing for well over a year! LOL

Aww that's very sweet, Dalis. :beat

I can't think of anything either! I love stories of finding treasures..especially things that offer glimpses in to what life was like for someone. Little archaeological finds, things like that. But I can't say I've ever found anything myself...unless geocaching counts?

I found a dollar in my purse this afternoon. I took it as a sign from God that he wanted me to buy a chocolate bar out of the vending machine. :giggle

oh if that counts, then I am lucky I find my purse every day!

I want to do geocatching so badly!!!!!!!

I am glad that didn't pass my mind when I found that $5 bill on my jeans last week. (or am I?)

My 8 year old, is the amazing money finder! We seriously expect him to find money! He is a saver, finds it, gives it right to his 16 year old brother, so he can save his money for him. Kinda cool relationship there.
me?
I am happy if I can find my 15 passenger van in the Walmart parking lot! lol

On our recent trip to Rome... I found a brand new MAC lipstick in the cab. I love MAC products and the greedy me kept it. However, DH believes that finders keepers theory brings us ill-luck coz we haven't worked for something and are getting it!! ...Me... not so much :) so On this occasion I convinced him to let me keep it. but sure to god ... My most fav wallet got picked out of my purse next day! So we ended up leaving the (damn) lipstick in the hotel room when we checked out:)

I've never found anything that wasn't mine. But one time, like 8 years ago I found $80 on my coat pocket that I hadn't worn since the previous winter. I didn't even know I had it. So, it was a lucky find!!
My husband on the other hand finds stuff all the time. If he sees a little green paper flying on the street he stops to check. He found $20 like that one day. He also found a silver chain in the middle of the street. He's always looking for shiny or green, lol! He says the best way to find things is by looking at the ground.

i found one of my chow chows running around our neighborhood without a collar and she was difficult to approach, growling, scared, bearing her teeth..this went on for hours and hours...i thought she would be hit by a car, so i knocked on several doors to find her owner, and when i did, she said to me..."do you want her?"

unbelievable! she just threw the poor dog out on the streets to fend for herself, right in her own neighborhood! the worst of it was, she had gotten her at a dog rescue...i guess their vetting process isnt has good as they thought...

so i took her home and loved her till the day she died, which was about 2 years ago, now...i still miss her! it was a happy day i found her and she became part of our family for 13 years.

I found my dog, Penny! She wandered into my brother's backyard - she was dirty and really skinny. She spent two weeks in a shelter unclaimed before I could adopt her. Maybe she found us, but I still think she's my best find ever.

Yes, I used to find stuff at college all the time, because I was always looking at the ground.

I tell you people are just bad, thank goodness she found you! When we adopted our dog, they even came and check our house. LOL!!!

Yep, she did find her mamma!

I found a gold bracelet one day,
and then about a week later I lost my tennis bracelet
oh well, what goes around comes around, eh? lol

wow some of these are pretty amazing...I would have to say that ever since I was a little kid I have an "eye" for 4 leaf clovers :) and now my daughter does too :) I can just look down when I am walking and find one, my DH hates it!!!!

Fun thread...love the dog stories! I never find money but I do get a thrill out of finding free or cheap photography props. Last month I was at a garage sale and I mentioned to the lady that I was looking for some things to use in food photography. I'm a wedding & portrait photog by trade but love to play with food photography as a hobby. She grabbed a bag and filled it up with a sterliing silver creamer, some place mats/napkins, a teacup and saucer and 6 little clear bowls that matched six that I had just bought a bit earlier in the morning at another garage sale. All for free and I walked away with a bag of stuff without paying her a cent. Gotta love that :)
