I feel sooooooo guilty!!!! What is the single most important thing for most 16 year olds????? Yup, the driver's test. I rush my son to his 4:30 appointment only to find out the appointment was at 4. Because we were late, they cancelled us. The next available appointment is not until April 3rd. OH MY GOODNESS! He was so sad! I'm going to call every single morning to find out if there are cancellations so I can get him in sooner. My fingers are crossed.

It's a bad mommy day!:thumbsdowns:hissy:tantrum:furious:groan:overreact:sense:hairpol:crazy3:duh

can you go to a nearby town? sometimes they have other places? that is so sad, I can only imagine your guilt, poor mom!

oh no - that's so awful for you both :( .... fingers crossed for a cancellation!

Well, honestly? At 16 years old, and ready to start driving, he ought to know when his appointments are!

This. (Although, I totally understand how you feel - I'd feel the same way. But don't feel TOO bad about it!)

Oh no! Don't feel too bad though, these things happen and in another month he won't care that it was a couple extra days. It'll just be a funny story you can look back on and laugh about. :)

don't feel too bad, he will get plenty of driving time even if he has to wait until April :)

He will survive and probably learned that he needs to learn when his appts are. LOL!!!

I agree with Anne in checking surrounding areas for the possibility of appointment openings if you really want to try and get him in before April. Bummer for sure.

He did know the appointment but it was the WRONG appointment cuz I told him wrong. LOL!! Totally my fault. ;0)

Don't be so hard on yourself... he'll survive and he'll get more practice! There's a reason for everything! ;)

LOL, he is going to remember that one for a good long while, but since it won't hurt him, it will be fine. I remember my son getting his license. He threw up after the first driving test he was so nervous and the instructor failed him. She told him if he couldn't keep his breakfast down, he shouldn't be behind the wheel. He was so upset, he let that permit expire and it took me 6 months to get him to get another one. He took the test again, and they failed him because it was his second permit and he'd only had it a week and they thought he should have more driving time, which was true. The third time was the charm, but getting there was the pits. :)

i think you need to scrapbook this. it may not seem funny now, but in a few years you will both laugh about it.
