I don't even bother. With 2 little boys peeing all day long, I'm just happy if they actually pee IN the toilet. I have no problem putting the lid down myself as long as they use the dang thing (and honestly I avoid the kids' bathroom anyway and use mine!)

This. I get the floor around it, the wall behind it, down the heat vent, etc. In the toilet would be an improvement.
