I wonder who else is suffering through what we go while shopping.

Bianca is 6 and she has some pretty HARD shopping rules, these haven't change in a long time.

NO BUTTONS :imok
NO RUFFLES
NO PINK
NO PURPLE
NO FLOWERS
NO SKIRTS OR DRESSES
NO GIRLY STUFF :dizzy

Any one in the same sinking boat? Or have you found the perfect place to find your not-so-girly girl some clothes? :helpy

LOL I'd die Dalis!!

I guess I've never let my kids have any clothing rules. I take them with me to pick stuff and they usually get what they choose, but then again both girls love dresses and skirts and all things sparkly. If they didn't, I'm sure I'd be forcing it on them LOL! My go to spots are Target and Old Navy - Old Navy usually has some good basics.

So, she doesn't like jeans then because of no buttons? That's a hard one!
 
Lol, my daughter is the exact opposite, she will wear pink and dresses or skirts everyday if she could!!! Although she will wear whatever I tell her to wear most of the time.

Most girl clothes is girly, can't think of a store that doesn't have lots of girly clothes.
 
Bella is actually a HUGE tomboy. She wants to do and have what her brothers do. Only she wants to be as pretty as possible at the same time. lol Everyone always says she is such a girlie girl, because of how she dresses, but really she is anything but. I think she'd be in heaven if she ever got a ruffly pink and purple dress covered in lego dinosaurs.
 
Sometimes I think my six-year old has multiple personalities. LoL. She can be a total tomboy one day (wholly jeans, dirt and trucks) and a princess the next. Which means some days she hates the idea of wearing pink and skirts and dresses but the next that's all she wants.

But I agree--try Old Navy for some basics. Maybe you can find something you can both compromise on :)
 
I'm not sure I could do no buttons, lol. That's super difficult. We buy a lot of Katelyn's clothes at Old Navy, that's a good place to get stuff that's not super pink and purple and ruffle-y. She's pretty easy to dress, she'll wear pretty much anything as long as it's not a turtle neck and she can wear her cowboy boots with it, lol!

We have this with Ella as well (nearly 8 yrs old). I never know what she's going to wear. For about 2 years she refused jeans of any kind at all. Then this fall she only wanted to wear jeans, and now she will only wear them if they are "skinny" or jeggings. She will mostly wear leggings just fine. She isn't as much into the dresses anymore.

One thing she loves is yoga pants, for whatever reason.

She will literally not get dressed. I prefer not to have a fight so early in the morning.

That sounds like a cool dress... LOL!!! Trish, we have found some cool non-girly dresses but again she doesn't do dresses.

We get a lot of "basics" but it is hard to find them with no buttons. She at least allows buttons for closures in PANTS.

She only does buttons on the closure of a pant, and that took some time. I have no idea why she HATES them so much.

that are polar opposites.
ONe curls her hair, then straightens it, and then watches youtube for hours to try a new hair style
the other
I have to tell her to brush it
one wears the tallest heels she can get away with,
the other is a flip flop gal even in the snow

one is into hot pink, animal prints and lace
the other
green, tshirts and on occasion will toss on a skirt if it is comfy!

quite hilarious, but they are both runners, love to laugh, and love adventure!

Oh, definitely. My identical twins are very, very different in personality!

We usually do, but sometimes the boyish colors are "boring". LOL!!!

My daughter is almost 3 and is turning out this way too. She wants pink and purple everything and wants to wear dresses every day, but she would love to go out and wrestle with her brothers in the mud too.

My oldest is a boy, but he is my picky one clothing wise. He never wants collars or buttons. Like you, we worked long and hard to get him to even wear pants with a button closure. He still will choose sweats and sports pants over jeans, but he will wear jeans or kakais some days. I guess I should be lucky that he's a boy then because there are a lot of tshirts and pants he can wear. What I've been doing is letting him pick most days although I always have veto power and then one day a week I get to pick a nice polo shirt for him to wear to school so that he starts getting use to buttons and collars.

Mine went through a non-girly phase about 5th grade or so. It lasted for about 3 years. Thankfully this was RIGHT at the Britney Spears tight little bitty shirts showing her belly button. We missed it completely wearing big black baggy tshirts and shapeless pants. She picked back up her girly side in about 9th grade. She's still a tomboy but loves sundresses because she lives where it's hot. She also wears flip-flops year round.

I think Bianca will out grow it, just give her a couple of years.
 
as you know, my girl is as girly as any girl can get... and Isaac loves B because she isn't so girly and she loves cars and trucks :wub

My 18 yr old DD was ALWAYS a little girly girl princess <3 I was SO happy about that. NOW she is a freaking diva princess.
