I was browsing etsy the last couple days and I am such a sucker for those gorgeous elaborate fabric flower headbands and was in the process of ordering some and it hit me that I am crafty, I should just do it myself LOL. So that led me to search on there for a tutorial and I found a great one but the lady wanted like $85 for one on how to make all her flowers, which were beautiful I might add. I put it in favorites and was thinking of buying it but then it hit me that there surely had to something free on the internet, especially with the popularity of these things right now.

Soooo... that led me to pinterest and I struck the motherload. There are tons of tutorials on there and I am pinning my little heart away :whistle. Best part of all is that I just saved myself $85 :woot

I know it! I've been tempted by those things so many times too, and then I'm like...I can sew, I can craft, why do I need to spend money? I must admit I sometimes buy them on etsy though just because of lack of time. When am I really going to have time to whip out the craft supplies? I have so many sewing patterns I've bought on etsy and Ottobres, and I haven't sewn in like over a year (pretty much since I've started digiscrapping). But yet I can't stop from buying the patterns and pinning the tutorials :) The internet is great like you said - pretty much anything can be found for free as far as craft tutorials.
 
i am a total pinterest addict! I have found so many great kid things on there and home ideas-just love it!

If you just type in Fabric Flower Tutorial on Pinterest it will bring up tons. I just got done pinning about 60 to go through. I think I know what my weekend will consist of now.

My daughters "fairy princess" headband at Halloween was a mix of Pinterest tutorial find and a few purchased fabric flowers from Hobby Lobby :)
 
I have always wanted to make those headbands myself but never have I found the time to do it.. I guess time to check it out at pinterest and make some as gifts for christmas!! :whistle
 
I am crafty challenged ... I like to look at everyone else's projects and think wow but the minute I set my hand to fabric a beast is unleashed within me who is both uncoordinated and allergic to both scissors and glue ROFL .... I would love to see pics of your finished products though :)
 
There are some days I don't know what I would do with out Pinterest! Best internet site evahhhh!!!!
 
Im going to go check it out too :) I have lots of little nieces. Nine that are all under 9 yrs old :) Thanks for giving me the*looksees* idea* :)
 
Couldn't agree more on Pinterest being FABULOUS!!! I find most of the inspiration for my designs there!
 
Now in addition to showing us the cute stuff you're making, we need the link to your pinterest so we can follow you. ;)
 
I just did the same thing with felt flowers. I just love looking at Pinterest. I could just browse the design category for hours.
