Ok....last night was almost the final straw. Neither DH or I got much sleep due to the mattress set we have.

What are you sleeping on and do you feel like you're getting plenty of rest?

hmm my mattress actually bed could do with replacing we have had it 12 years eek but i think i could sleep on a clothes line if im tired

We got a Sleep Number a few years back. They're spendy, but we really like it, especially since DH likes his side much softer than I do. I don't know if I'd say I get plenty of rest, but that's just because I stay up later than I should. I do sleep well when I'm actually in bed! :giggle Pillows make a big difference too. I have memory foam pillow that I absolutely love!

Ugh DH and I are in the same boat, desperately need a new mattress!!! We both have back problems because of it but can't afford a new one. When we can, I'm not sure if I want a pillow top, memory foam, or what... So I'm gonna stalk this thread lol!!

Our mattress (local brand) is about 6 years old, but every three months DH and I will turn it over and use the reverse side, just to get rid of any indentations. I'm pretty sure I would sleep better with better pillows, lol. I'm eyeing memory foam pillows, we got one for my dad some years back.

Ours is a plush top - Serta, or Simmons, or one of those main brands. We both have back issues, plus I have dust mite allergies, so we replace our mattress every 10 years or so (I think we're on our third). The plush top is awesome. Gives the right amount of cushion but doesn't give off as much heat as a pillow top

Lex, good pillows make a world of difference! We order ours from the Westin Hotel store - they're expensive, but they're amazing!!

The guy at the mattress store told us that the memory foam is really hot and you just end up trying to crawl out of a sweaty hole all night. Changed our minds real quick. Lol

A pillow top is a thick ole thing that its impossible to find sheets to fit around. It's really comfy though, and it's great when dh is traveling. But when he's in it with me I swear its so hot!!! Lol

I went and took a look, Julie, and woa they ARE pricey. But it IS so tempting. I think we should at least invest in good pillows, even if they aren't this specific brand. Ours are literally falling apart :/

We had queen bed. That was mine before we got married. So last year the mattress was 19 years old. Gross, right??? And so uncomfortable. So we found a deal on 4th of July last summer ('11) and got an extra-firm Cal King. It took a few weeks to get used to but we LOVE LOVE LOVE our bed. We both sleep so much better. So many less aches and pains. So many less squeaks and bounces. I highly recommend getting a new one!

On a side note, we are living with my parents right now and the first night we slept in the guest bed with both wanted to die. SOOOO squishy and soft. We were miserable. Come to find out, they had a memory foam topper on it. We ripped that sucker off and we've been sleeping great on their firm mattress underneath! So I know some people swear by the memory foam (my parents included) but I can safely say it's totally not our thing. LOL

Our mattress is older than my oldest son and we'e been talking about getting a new one for a few years, lol. It just never happens, other things need to be done. But next year, it's a priority. I want to sleep well again!

We just switched to a Sleep Number. Like Kim said, they are on the spendy side, but we really love it. Plus, they have a much longer life than a standard mattress.

I know, but seriously, after we slept at a Westin hotel, and then went home to our pillows, we couldn't order them fast enough. We get the feather & down ones ($85) and what I like about them is you can throw them in the washing machine (on cold), and then pop them in the dryer with tennis balls, and they come out clean, fresh and super fluffy.

we just got a sealy optimum posturepedic a few weeks ago- it's a gel memory foam which is supposed to be a lot better temperature-wise than a regular memory foam. I never slept on a regular memory foam, but ours is definitely not hot. This replaced our 10-yr old mattress and if I didn't have a 6 month old I think I'd be sleeping great :giggle

We have a pillow top. I love it!! DH bought it right before we met....it's soooo comfy. It's getting up there in age...we are just waiting to replace it until we actually decide on a new bedroom set!!
