Yay! The Olympics are here!

What sports are you looking forward to watching these next two weeks?

And who are you rooting for?

We are a big swim family, so swimming is our number one sport to watch. I also love women's gymnastics and women's soccer.

And we're rooting for the USA of course. I also have a soft spot for South Korea, since my mom is from there.

I have loved the Olympics since childhood. Just something about seeing the world together on one stage, equality for all, that I love. My favorite is gymnastics (women's and men's), followed by the track and field events. Husband's favorite is swimming. He swam through college. I really enjoy swimming too.

Of course I root for team USA, but I love to see the underdog on top. It doesn't matter to me who wins gold. Every time I watch a medal ceremony, I get misty eyed.

I'm with Jordan, every one of those medal ceremonies makes me cry, doesn't matter who is up there. It's the pride on their face... very powerful.

We'll watch swimming, gymnastics, track, diving and whatever else is on! Love it all!

I love the OLympics, my favourites are swimming, gymnastics, volleyball and soccer (my father was a goalkeeper!) and of course I'm team Brazil! Hope this year the boys' soccer team will bring the golden medal!!!

I think this will be a fun year for the Olympics in this house since DD is showing real interest in the games fro the first time. She's told me she wants to watch Equestrian, Swimming, and Gymnastics for sure. I'll be rooting for the USA but there are some members of my household that will be rooting for Canada (DH was up at 3:00 this morning and stayed up long enough to see his country walk before going to bed). I'm really looking forward to watching what we can this year.

Aussie, aussie, aussie!! I also hope Malaysia do well.

Swimming and diving are my favorites, but I also enjoy watching track, gymnastics and cycling. I am sure we will be watching a bit of soccer too in our family.

i like the gymnasts and i like the long jump and swimming pretty much most of the olympics i can watch

We LOVE gymnastics around here! Hands-down favorite in our house. We're cheering for Jordyn Wieber (because my kiddos used to go to the gym where she trains... until we moved from Michigan... and we KNOW how hard she works!!) and Gabbi Douglas. And Jon Orozco is my son's favorite, so we'll be cheering him on as well. Of course, anyone from team USA we would love to see do well.

Also, I'm really rooting for the gymnast from GB. She was going to retire but when she found out the games would be in her home country, she stuck with it. I would love to see that pay off for her and see her have a great games!!

Women's gymnastics and all the equestrian stuff. My boss's good friend is riding in this year's equestrian events, so that will be a little more fun to watch (it's her 5th olympics, and my boss was thinking she might be the oldest woman athlete in this year's games, which I think is cool :))

Male gymnastics! Bow chicka wow wow... :giggle:giggle:giggle

HAAA!!! My son has plans to be in the 2020 Olympics... so this attitude better change by then!!! don't MAKE me go Crazy Mamma on you!! :rollingpin

They said last night that Madrid is one consideration for the 2020's... I've been DYING to go back to that city for years! If it IS in Madrid, that kid BETTER get there because his mamma wants to go! (It IS all about me afterall, no?:giggle)

I love OH and I´ll watch cycling...Maybe You know Roman Kreuziger, my sister dated with his father, LOL!
Also love athletic disciplines, swimming, ....except footbal everything!! :giggle

I really love swimming and gymnastics and I'll be rooting for the USA. But I love the underdog stories, usually from place I've never heard of. I root for them, too!

I love, love, love the Olympics. We obviously cheer for the U.S. but also South Korea since my children are Korean. I'm visiting my family in Illinois, and my sister Becky is here too. We're having lots of good times watching together.

I'll do my best, Rebecca, to calm it down by then. :giggle

I will be 40 that year. I'm sure I will feel like a dirty birdy ogling the biceps of 20somethings. :whistle

No LeeAndra, you're never too old to ogle... as long as you aren't ogling MY kid :giggle

We love gymnastics, swimming, and beach volleyball the most! We seem to be glued to the Olympics this year!

We are of course rooting for USA, and I also pull for Australia and Great Britain (I always have, they are really cool countries, IMO).

P.S. I also love synchronized swimming - my brother teases me about this, but seriously, they are AMAZING! It doesn't start for them for several more days, but I will be glued when it starts (I watch them every year!) <3
