:giggle

gah. we got a new cat at the shelter (well several) but one of them is just pure demonic evil. I'm sure it's terrified and reacting accordingly but goodness gracious. Spitting, hissing, charging at the walls of it's cage- that's before anyone even got close to her :p I was a good 10 feet away from it's cage and it was already starting it's antics. Of course, crabenstein set off all the other cats at the shelter (ALL of them). We had to move queen crabenstein to another cage which meant grabbing everyone else and putting them in cages jic she got loose.......... bite bite bite hiss scratch scratch screech.

-.-

displeased with all you kitties today!
I thankfully survived, and am not dead. It was close though :p

Maybe it's feral. They never do settle down, no matter what. We lured one in the house once, when it was still a kitten, and years later it still wouldn't let us come near it, hissed and bit, etc. There was no love there. LOL

Yikes. I'm leery around any and all cats, I can't imagine being in such close proximity to a super demonic one :hide Your day can only get better!

I'm just not a cat person. Sorry, that's just the honest truth and what's happening with you is why I'm not a cat person. Our neighbor's cats, though, are about to use up the last of their 9 lives if they don't stop coming up on our deck and taking our shoes, toys, anything & everything over to their house. It's really starting to make me mad with all the stuff the cats are taking off the deck and then their dogs mangle whatever is left. ARGH!!!!!

BTW: The man came over and told DH that he KNOWS we have a cat and dog because he's seen them on our deck. REALLLLYYYY!?!?!?!? Such a dumb-a$$ he is...doesn't even know the cat & dog are HIS and HIS WIFE'S?!?!?!?!? Me thinks the neighbors are total WHACK JOBS!

lol that's the first thing i said when i walked in.. cat was freaking possessed it's gotta be feral. i worry for it.. We're a no kill shelter but if that thing can't calm down i don't know.. :/

Eeep!

Could it also be preggo? Preggo kitties go a little cuckoo from what I've heard. Preggo + feral would be doubly cuckoo I'd think.

Glad you survived! And hopeful it can calm down over time.

your neighbors are crazy people o_O

eeeek!! I don't like demonic cats. Casey's cat "Monkey" was totally evil. She wasn't feral, but I knew she'd never be a house cat. I'd walk by and she'd attack me, bite me, etc... We kept her inside for months...making sure she was spayed and tried to get her to be calm. It got to be so hard to keep her in though. If she heard the garage door open, she'd be at the door waiting to bolt as soon as we came in. She was like this with all the doors. We finally thought we'd teach her to go out like the other cats...just a little bit in the morning, maybe to lay around in the sun in the afternoon, but then you come in and stay in! She wouldn't have any of it. She was gone within a week and we haven't seen her since. It's been a year now, so a coyote may have gotten her, but at least I knew she was spayed and wasn't going to be having any kittens if she stayed outside.

Glad you aren't dead.

I love the name crabenstein. I'd probably adopt her just because of her name. LOL

We captured a feral cat in our yard. She did the same thing. Like a tasmanian devil in a cage. But she's calm now that she's out of the cage (and fixed). She still doesn't want us to be near her, but she's lived at our house for 8+ years.

lol this is totally just my word.. they should absolutely name her that though. I don't think they appreciate the names i give some of the cats ^__^ crabenstein, jabba, butthead... they all deserve it their names :p

eek. well i'm glad you are alive!! could you imagine? here lies lauren grier. death by cat.
give it a kick in the tush. see if that shapes up it's attitude. that always worked for me. ;)

I love kitties, but yikes - I've never met a cat like that before! Poor psycho kitty!! I hope it calms down!

Wow, La-- I'm glad you're OK.
Have to admit, I did skip a beat because I didn't know you worked at a shelter. I read your post to mean that you took home several cats from a shelter and one was acting wacko. At first I thought to myself...

"why is she taking in so many cats... especially one who is completely nuts?" :huh

Then when you described the cages, I figured it out.
I think I might need a bit more sleep at night.
