After playing my 14,628th hand of Uno with Julia today while she recovers, I decided I need to go and buy some new games this weekend. What are your family favorites?

We're big fans of Sorry, Blokus, Monopoly and Skip-Bo too.

Sorry Sliders is lots of fun...kind of like shuffleboard with some sorry rules and of course playing pawns.
Pass the Pigs is one of my DD's favorites
Also how about Payday or The Game of Life?

Our all time favorite family game is Ticket To Ride (USA version) because we are a family of 5 and you can play 5 players. We have the 1910 extension too. . . lots more routes! We just recently found this game as an iPod app and enjoy playing it that way too! (no clean up!)

We also love Apples to Apples, Bang!, Settlers of Catan, Ruckus, Alhambra and The Great Dalmuti~

Settler's of Catan is a favorite game around here as well. Honestly we have a hall closet stuffed with games...if we were to buy a couple more we'd have to get rid of some...it's a little insane.

I've heard good things about Ticket to Ride but haven't played it...how does it play with just three people?

mastermind, hedbanz, monopoly, sorry, sequence for kids and battleship are faves here. sometime i want to get ticket to ride.

I always loved Boggle... but that is because I'm a word geek. ;) I also love Mastermind and Cranium. We haven't had a game night in ages, but we did go through a streak of jigsaw puzzles lately. This is such a fun thread. :)

We like rummikub. As a kid I liked scattergories. In bigger groups of people the dictionary game can be really funny.

We like Rumikub, Sorry, Cranium, Yahtzee, Memory and Disney HedBandz!

Love Ticket to Ride! My kids are still pretty young, and my 5 yo LOVES games. We play lots of Go Fish, Blockus, Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders, and Memory.

We just discovered a super fun dice game called Toss Up. My 5 YO and 7 YO love to play it and it's perfect for all ages up to adults too! :)

We have not one, but TWO closets stuffed full of puzzles and games, not counting the few odd ones that the kids keep in their rooms. I see several I haven't heard of though. I'll have to make a list to check out!

Current favorites here are Skip-Bo, Mexican Train dominoes, Hedbanz, and In A Pickle. The last two always mean lots of laughter. :) We also have Wii nights, with Mario Kart being the most common choice. I'm terrible at it, but it's fun anyway.

Anything from Blue Orange. These are really creative. We have

Yamslam kind of like poker + Yahtzee merged together
Spot It you need to find what is the same on the two cards - a lot harder than it sounds
Tell Tale you deal out 3 cards per person then take turns telling the story. Turn over your card to see where you need to take the story - this can be very funny!

We also play Yahtzee, card games (King's corners, Saskatchewan Rummy, Rummoli, 4-card Golf, 6-card Golf). Ligretto (lots of fun with 4+ people).

And we just got Apples to Apples Junior - great for the kids once they can read. Also fun with 4+ people.

If you have a wordsmith, try Pick Two - you arrange your letters to form words in a crossword type of way, and then yell pick 2 when you've used up all your letters (and everyone grabs 2 more letters). Very creative thinking here, not to mention spelling skills.

yahtzee and banana grams are big around here and I just got this new domino game that looks cute and the dominoes are shaped like bananas lol!

Settler's of Catan is a favorite game around here as well. Honestly we have a hall closet stuffed with games...if we were to buy a couple more we'd have to get rid of some...it's a little insane.

Sarah~ Ticket to Ride is great with 3 players as well. . .you just can't play the double routes. That means once someone has occupied a route from one city to the next, you can't play on the other route if there is one.

Wackee 6 is fun too. . . a card game. It's like a great big version of speed with 6 players. You could make your own game with just 6 different sets of cards so you can separate them once a round has been played.
