February: Revolution Discussions **Spoilers**

I read this book a while ago, but it is still an all time favorite! Read it Nov. 12, 2010 actually according my Goodreads! I thought the whole book was really really well done and have since fallen in love with Jennifer Donnelly and her writing. One person said that the time travel was way too far fetched and didn't "fit" the story really, but I thought it was a fun twist and made sense the more you looked at it and examined it. I really liked how this reviewer described that:

She knew it was an implausible plot choice when she wrote it (that's why Virgil teases Andi about it right afterwards), but she chose to use it anyway -- not as a copout, but to very vividly make a point. It underscores a key theme of the book: Andi and Alex aren't two girls separated by 200 years, they're one character in a story that's always been going on ("the world goes on, stupid and brutal ...). Time is irrelevant in this tale, so it doesn't matter who's in what time period.

I might go back and reread this again, but it's a book that hasn't ever lost me and I will always treasure..even though I know that not everyone loved it as much as I did.

I haven't read it yet, but I just put the talking book DVD on hold at my library, so I should get it in a couple days.

I was totally about to say that I'll have to wait until this weekend to get this since I'm sure my library doesn't have it... then I remembered I have that Kindle and can probably borrow it from somewhere. :lol

I just got it on my kindle from the library. Going to try to start reading and see what you guys have to say. :D

I read this a while ago too (at Crystal's recommendation!) and I loved it! :wub

I just finished reading this a week or so ago and I loved it! I kind of want to read it again already! :) I love the suspense of when it broke back to the present and I just couldn't put it down to find out what would happen next.

I finished it and I really liked it. I kept me wanting to read more and find out what was going to happened to Alex and to Andi. Thanks for recommending it, ;)

I just finished it, and thought that it was really interesting. It definitely kept me turning pages, and I am headed to see what else she's written.

Melissa she is an amazing author! A Northern Light is fantastic! I am geting ready to start the Rose collection if you want to read those along with me! :D

Don't shoot me but I just finished this today. lol I kinda got caught up reading a different book first. lol

I really ended up liking the book, but I also had to make myself make it through the beginning. I just had a lot of trouble getting into it.

me too!

i was shy to say anything because everyone else seems to have liked it.
but something about it just didn't work for me. i don't know if it was her writing style or maybe just the fact of being inside a moody teenager's head that i didn't like. i never really felt for the main character the way you're supposed to

still glad i read it though. i love historical fiction and it was a really interesting concept.

finished this a few weeks ago but forgot to add my two cents. It was interesting enough and held my attention, however I agree with Trish and Michelle that I just didn't really feel for the character. I might see what else the author has wrote because overall I did enjoy the book.

It wasn't my favorite book either :)
maybe it was the moody teenage girl's head thing...
I wouldn't mind trying something else by this author though because I know lots of people love her.
