Inquiring Minds Want to Know... [inspired by Liahra's thread]

How did you end up at TLP and what is it that has made you stay? Designers, challenges, the community... all of the above?

What makes it a digi home for you??

All of the above for sure!

I bought from TLP when the doors opened in 2007. I think my purchases were one of Kate's alphas and Natalie Braxton's ribbons. TLP had its first open Polly call in...hmm...I don't even know when that was...maybe 2008? I came on board as Polly then. Of course, early last year, Kelly and I took the reigns as owners. TLP's always been my home creatively - who can resist these talented designers after all?! - but also because of the warm, genuine community.

For me, it started out as the place where all my favorite designers were. This was my main store to shop at...I loved the designers, had to have everything from the BYOC every month, etc...

I used the gallery for inspiration all the time, and felt the gals that ct'd here were just the cream of the crop.

A little over a year ago I decided to post a layout here and then saw there was a Polly call. It was ending that day so I quickly submitted my application and was chosen. I was SO beyond thrilled...you could hear me hootin and hollerin a mile away! Sadly I had to step down a few months ago when life got in the way...but it's my home and the only place for me.

I LOVE Laura and Kelly...they are the best of the best, all the Polly's are such wonderful ladies, the designers are AMAZING, I love all the ladies that hang out here...it's just where I choose to hang my hat!

oh..and the gallery here is STILL my main source of inspiration! It's crazy how much gorgeousness is in there!

Quite a few years back, I purchased some goodies from Kate Hadfield (her Heavy Duty Staples were one of my first scrap purchases ever!) and Jenna Desai (Waiting for Fall papers, among others), and kept coming back to TLP through their blogs (and blog freebies). I think I stalked them a little (in a purely non-creepy scrapfanatic kind of way:whistle).

Then life took over, and I ended up hanging out elsewhere, but when Rachel Young came on as a designer here, I was on her team, so I came along with her!

I rediscovered the amazing designers here, started hanging out more and more, bought a ton of goodies during the Tuesday sales and Friday new releases. Basically just made myself at home! And I really felt welcomed, although I'll admit I lurked for a while, too - just to make sure no one bites!

Last year I applied for a Polly Challenge, and I was fortunate enough to join the team. I couldn't ask for a better team to work with, or designers to showcase, or forum members to hang and share with.

And I have to say, the participation in our Challenges is so affirming - having so many participants really make this a pleasure to host each month! :beat

I first discovered the lily pad through natalie braxton too,and then discovered how gorgeous the lilypad was and all the designers,i emailed amy wolff anJacque and begged for a spot on there team back in the day and they said yes then the lilypad had there very first open call and i applied thinking well ill give them a laugh if nothing else so was so shocked that my name was on the accepted list, and unless they kick me out i am never leaving,i love all the designers here i love how all the products are able to mix and match,i love the friendliness here and how we welcome all new comers,i love the gallery and how much real love people leave for each other,i feel the pad is my home i have made some lovely friends here and feel i can tell you lot stuff that i wouldnt go else where to tell,i especially love laura and how understanding she was with me just after i had my baby and how she let me stay here

Before I started hanging out here I spent a lot of time drooling over the goodies in the shop but until about a year ago my scrapping budget was pretty close to zero (thank goodness for CTs) so once our money flow eased up a bit I started buying when I could. I still don't have a huge scrap budget but 95% of my digiscrapping money gets spent here.

What's kept me here is that everyone has always seemed so friendly and welcoming, I love the chats, and I love how easy it is to understand and complete the challenges (and I love challenges). Really I'm just so glad I found TLP.

You know, I think the first time I stumbled across TLP was when Megs did a collab with Kaye. Or when she guested here. I dropped by from time to time, but not very often. Then Krista moved here, as did Sara... and I applied for one of the polly calls.. and now I literally do not go to any other forums. I used to flit around between a bunch, but as far as scrapping goes, I only check TLP and Megs' CT forum now!

I used to be terrified of the Pad. LOL
but Kate's doodles lured me in when I was a scrapper.
It's always been just 'a dream' to sell here when I started designing.
I still remember the day I received the email from Amy asking if I was interested in moving over.
I about died of excitement and nervousness.......................Not. Even. Kidding. It was seriously
the best moment EVER!!!!

I started digiscrapping in the Fall of 2007 and one of my first ever purchases was here at TLP. I created for one of the designers about a year later. I remember that there wasn't a public forum back then but there was a great gallery and I always received the best comments here. I became a Polly in 2009 and this has been my digi home ever since. TLP has grown a lot and I think it keeps getting better and better. I love the community here! :beat

my history is like laura's, except for being TLP's owner, LOL!
I remember when the store was Amy Martin, Amy Wolff, Natalie Braxton and Audrey Neal. yes, Kate was not selling yet. I got her first alpha as a freebie on her blog!!! OMG I LOOOOOVE that alpha! so, after the first purchase, I was hooked! I applied for the very first TLP call and I almost died when I saw my name on that list - I was in! YAYYY! when I came back to the scrap world, TLP was the first place in my mind. that's it! I LOVE TLP for all the reasons that you ask. all of the above :P

I've been in and out since TLP opened its doors. There's usually no room in the budget for scrap stuff, unfortunately, so I've had to do most of my admiring from afar. In the last few months, I've really made a concerted effort to become more involved. I love that the challenges are interesting and fun, but also laidback and not overwhelming, and when you do the challenges, you, of course, get a coupon so you can actually get a thing or two every month even when it's not in the budget. :giggle The gallery is crazy-inspiring, and I get such nice comments, too, and more than I get anywhere else in Digiland.

I've always admired the TLP site, and now I just like saying that I'm really part of it, too. :beat

I found TLP through Kate. I saw some of her stuff fell in love and psycho-stalked the whole site until last January last year when I finally decided to jump in. So it only took me about... um... 3 or 4 years. lol Once I started posting and replying to stuff I just fell in love. It's a great site, with awesome and talented people. It's fast moving, and there's a good sized community. BUT at the same time it doesn't move too fast, or seem so big that you can get lost in it.
I became a lot more active once I got on Amy M's team. She was one of the first designers to give me a spot when I went looking for creative teams again after working exclusively with another designer for a bit over a year.

I first starting posting layouts here when Krista(Sahlin Studio) moved in since I was on her CT, but was very busy as CT leader at anothr site and did not really have time to post alot in other forums. But after I resigned as CT leader and was looking for a new perm digihome, Cristina encouraged me to really hang at TLP( we were co CT leaders at the other site). Very quickly I realized that the community here is awesome. The designers are fantastic. I just love the vibe of it here. I was excited to be asked to help with marketing and become a Polly and have enjoyed being here tremendously.

I followed my best friends here...Leslie, Jenni, Sara, Laura...when they were all polly's. I also was on a few teams...I think I really started shopping here when Val moved here when WST closed. I stay for the same reason I came...the people. Some of my very dearest and truest friends are here. people I really count as friends and not just digi people I know. I love them with my whole heart and they have made TLP my digi home!

I couldn't have said it better! :) I found the TLP blog way back in late 2007 when I discovered scrapbooking, and I bookmarked it, and returned every now and then to admire those gorgeous pages. I believed it was the very best store back then, and I still believe it now! I cannot believe I am part of the team, and couldn't be happier! :beat

Like I said in the other thread, I ended up first finding TLP because I stalked Jenn Barrette and came to pick up her collab kits with Krista and Valorie. Then, even though I was so *not* a template girl, I got hooked on Ms. Sara Gleason's stuff and started hoarding it on a regular basis. Finally, in one of my shopping sprees (I think it was October), I happened to look at the forums and challenges, and thought I'd have fun with them. I really just felt like my style meshed more here than anywhere else. Then it just sort of snowballed on me because everyone here is so friendly and wonderful. It is so nice to have such a great group of sweet down-to-earth people ALONG WITH the amazing designers and fun that goes on here. It is just almost too good to be true. :D

TLP rocks!!!!

i don't know that i've ever NOT bought from TLP. i just ventured into the forums a few months ago though. i've stalked rachel since um, forever? LOL

I don't remember how I stumbled onto TLP, but I used to shop all over digi-land. What kept me here and finally got me out of lurking mode was the challenges. I LOVE the challenges, the designers, and the community. Even as a Polly I still complete all 7 challenges every month. Being a Polly is a dream come true!

I'm sure I started buying from here when it opened it's doors.... Loved me some Natalie and Kate... and everything else here! lol! Then in July 2008, I got THE most amazing PM ever from Mrs. Amy Martin (she's my hero) inviting me on to the store CT. The rest is history. Love this place and how much it's grown over the years. Most definitly my digi home. :)
