Pad Patter 11/30: Canon or Nikon?

Yeah, well, then I saw the price for the 700, and there's no freaking way I'm spending that on a camera! So my 90 is just fine for me! :lmao

LOL! Me, too. I couldn't believe how much the body cost!

Add me to the list of those who will have to be happy with my D90 for a long time!

I am a canon girl, but, like most others, that is what started with. I have had the rebel and now the 5dmii. and I love it!!! I was told that between Canon and Nikon they are both fabulous cameras, and it really just matters how they feel in your hands. I also know some Nikon photographers whose pictures I adore! You should try them both out and decide which one fits YOU better. :)

I'm a Nikon girl and really love it, but I do think that it's all about personal preference and what you learned to shoot manual on.

If you've got a D90 and wanted to upgrade, the D7000 (not the D700) would be a great upgrade for about half the price. The D7000 has FABULOUS reviews everywhere, and it was a really good upgrade for me from the D90. Karen Russell, who is a well-known photography teacher, has both the D700 and the D7000, and she uses her D7000 over the D700.

I would love to upgrade to full frame at some point, but when I was looking at upgrading from my D90, the cost of the D7000 was enough to sway me to try it instead of full frame, and I love it.

Thank you so much, Melissa, for posting that. I've been thinking about the D7000. I almost had enough saved up when we had to make some changes with our car situation, sniff, sniff.

Melissa, what about the 7000 is better than the 90? For me, who is strictly a hobby photographer, I've often wondered if I would be better off keeping my 90 and investing in better lenses. What does the 7000 have that the 90 doesn't?
