I haven't gotten around to to udating my iPhone4 to the new software. I'm afraid to lose stuff. All my pics from it are backed up. And I thinkt that all my music and apps are... but I always worry that they're not. How do you back up your iPhone?

I sync it once a day. I also did a sync right before I updated mine to iOS 5...and not all of my apps were there after. My important apps were (fb, twitter, weather, etc. Things I use daily) but others weren't. I don't keep music on my iPhone but my friend did mention that hers got messed up after the update.

I have a horrible confession...I have never, ever updated my iPad. (eeeck!) I am not even sure it WILL back up now. I am contemplating taking it to the Apple store and begging them to do it. LOL

I sync it up every week or so when I want to add a book or some new music. I back up my photos much more frequently though because I am paranoid. I recently dropped my phone in the sink. I'm glad it still works - but I'm also glad I had everything backed up just in case.

I back up my ipod touch, mystaya's ipod touch, our iphone and now my ipad all into my external hd at least once a month, when my last laptop broke I lost ALL my music and apple let me re-download everything but told me this was my 1 and only chance to download them that we should be backing up our stuff so now i backup religiously

I back up my iPad only when I've purchased an app on it, that I want to add to my iPhone or vice versa. I DETEST backing up with iTunes because I feel like one false click and it's going eat my stuff and delete randomly. It never seems to do what I think is logical, so I avoid it whenever possible. My hubby is terrified to do it for me anymore too, because it did my iPad once when I had it for a few months and he deleted all of my apps and I was so upset about it that he said it was up to me now. Eep! I really didn't blame him, becuase I know I would have made the same mistake, but he felt so bad about it! I just wish they let you plug it in and have it show up just like an external hard drive, so I can be in charge of what gets moved/deleted/added. Grrr...

I haven't backed up my ipod touch or ipad in AGES. I am going to do that right after i drop the kiddo off. Isn't all this backing up/syncing stuff supposed to be automatic and so much easier with the new iOS5? I was under the impression that it is all done wirelessly now and with the new iCloud your music and photos can be stored online. As soon as I get done with this move I am going to get all that figured out and get my devices updated.

OMG!!!! Karen! This happended to the hubs and I!!! We were doing a sync and must have clicked the wrong option and we lost a bunch of music... okay, so Micheline, do you sync everything and then ???? I usually just sync and then transfer all my purchases the way itunes says I need too... is that enough?

I just got the new iPhone, so I let iCloud do it and pray that's enough! lol.
