UGH, need to vent a little!!

Walgreens had a sale on 10 cent a print, so I took 400 photos to be printed last week, so over the weekend I sat and sorted them and put memory joggers on each event. I notice that I am missing all of the photos of the birth of my last grandbaby, I am fumin, so I call the store (I erased my SD card!!!) explain to them...... They found them in the kiosh machine but cant get them to send so they can be printed!!! So I am loosing my cool with the photo manager and I tell him someone needs to get it figured out ASAP becuz I was in charge of pictures that day and they are the only ones!!!!! He worked on it no luck, he calls me and claims they have a company that can get them off my erased SD card, but I have to give them the card they will send it in and could take two weeks.

Has anybody ever heard of being able to get erased pictures off SD card?

I am trying very hard to keep my cool, but not doing to well!! So many counted on me for pictures, I have yet to tell anyone and am praying they can get them!!!!

I have heard of pictures being recovered from SD cards after they have been "deleted". I don't know anything about it though, because a friend had her techy husband do it, and she didn't give details. It is quite annoying when picture companies do this. Especially when they are unsympathetic.
 
I know there are free (and some others that are for purchase) programs that will recover photos from SD cards. Might be worth a Google! Good luck recovering your pics...the birth of a new grandbaby is far too important to lose!
 
You can definitely recover pics from a card - just as long as you haven't used the card since you deleted everything!!
 
That's awful. Good luck with recovering those pics - I agree with Laura - they are far too important to lose.
 
That's horrible and I never even thought that something like that could happen.

Like the gals said, you can recover off of an SD card, so hopefully you'll get those precious photos!!
 
I will google this, see what I can come up with. I have only taken 3 pics on that SD card, hopefully that doesnt botch it up for me. I would have never thought this would happen, I am just beside myself on this, I will be devistated if I can NOT recover them. I definately will NEVER delete another SD card until I have pictures in hand, and sorted to make sure none are missing.

Thank you for listening, just didnt know who else would understand like my scrapbooking friends.

I have heard it's possible to get erased pictures off a SD card.
But what a pain, and so heart wrenching.
I hope things get cleared up for you soon!

Dawn, I am so glad you have your pictures back. I'm just wondering if you had considered making a digital backup of all your photos rather than deleting them when you print?
