I really (really) want a new comforter set for our bedroom. I bought one last summer from King Linen and it's nice, but I absolutely hate the feeling of the fabric. It's itchy. The underside is soft, but weird soft and the top feels something like taffeta (it's not, but you kwim?)

Where is a good place to get quality bedding? Show me what you've got!

I really love the bedding at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I have a beautiful set that I got there 3 years ago and it has held up very nicely. I am really wanting THIS set next. I even love the name. It's called "Darcy" and reminds me of one of my all time favorite Jane Austen stories.

I have a duvet and could NOT find a cover that I liked until my friend told me her brilliant idea: She has a plain duvet cover and bought a decorative comforter/quilt that she puts on top of it! So that's what I did. I found a really nice plain tan duvet cover on overstock.com for a really good price, and found a quilt that I loved at Target and I just fold that one down when we sleep. I've had the quilt it for about 3 years now I think and I still love it! :)

I bought my last quilt from The Company Store. It's like a real hand made quilt and feels all cozy and broken in already instead of the plastic feeling fabric you sometimes get from Target etc. I never want to get another quilt again because I love mine that much. yeah, I'm kinda weird... but you asked! LOL! :giggle

I got our bedding set at Kohl's back when we built our house, so three years ago. I am starting to get sick of it, but won't get anything new until we build again, since we do the room colors based on the bedding and I won't repaint because I am horrible at painting - LOL! Glad I am married to a builder so I just get a new fresh look every couple years! Anyway - I loved the set from Kohls and I remember it being really reasonably priced! Oh yeah, and it is soft!

My quilt from Target is very soft - not plasticy at all! Maybe it depends on what you get :)

i get all my bedding from the company store. i do as mentioned above, i get solid covered comforters (pink for the girls and white for the master and guest room) and then get decorative quilts to go on top .... i don't even add a quilt to my bed - i love the look of my all white bed.

I, personally, LOVE THIS! I love quilts.

Okay, so in our bedroom the walls are a deep yellow/gold color. Right now, our comforter (which I hate) is a soft blue, taupe and chocolate. But that needs to change.

What colors should I look for??

Dana, don't your kids make your white bed dirty? What about pets? I'm scared of white. But I could be convinced. lol

Are you more into the warm colors or cool colors? How would you describe your "style"? Mine is eclectic, and I tend to like lighter colors verses darker colors. I think we had a thread a long time ago about beds and some of us posted pictures - I am off to find it!

And I just looked thru the thread and I thought I had posted mine in there, but apparently not, so here it is:

Amanda, by nature I am drawn to warmer colors, but our bedroom furniture is all espresso so I don't want the room to feel dark. The walls are seriously yellow/gold and very bold. I like the color, but I need to have bedding that coordinates. If I clean up my room quickly, I'll take a pic.

Ah. Good to know. It must have just been the ones I bought for my boys. The pattern looked like it was painted on instead of being part of the fabric. :). They didn't care and I don't have to sleep with it, so I didn't care too much. :)

Oh Leah, if you have dark wood and a bold yellow, I think white would look awesome!

Okay here we go:

We just moved in to this house last summer. We have a lot of big furniture in this room, making it feel crowded. The bed is a king. The people that lived here before us only had a queen, so the room seemed a lot bigger. I'll take some decorating tips too!!! :D

**ETA: I moved the bed over a little bit and took down our "create" collage. It's always felt out of place there, but it's the only straight wall with enough room on it in our room (and it means something different to us, each letter represents something, which is why it's in our bedroom).

well - i don't have any pets, so i don't know about that - but the kids don't get the bed dirty ... but they don't really get on it except for reading stories/watching a show after baths (i.e., they are clean anyway LOL) - BUT - w/ all white i can always wash like crazy w/out things getting 'washed out', i can bleach, i can use any sort of stain removal and oxy clean - and i also have some 'bluing' stuff that makes old whites look whiter. so - i LOVE white everything - sheets, towels, bathroom rugs, etc ...

Very good point! lol

I just went through this struggle! LOL I ended up buying some Heather Bailey fabrics and had pillows made. I'm using the scrap pieces to do a few craft projects to decorate the room. I bought a white quilt to use as a neutral background, and I really like it. I'll take pics of progress tomorrow and post.

I'm a fan of Kohl's... that's where I bought our new set when we moved and I absolutely luv it! Best of luck in your search! :-)
