Happy National Play Catch Week!

My daughter recently introduced me to a new catch toy called Waboba. It’s made for playing catch in water and I’m excited to try it out.

Do you enjoy playing catch?
When is the last time you played catch?
Have you heard of Waboba or any other unique catch toys?

Years ago I would play frisbee a lot with friends and then played frisbee with my retriever. My aussie isn't interested in it though, she likes to chase a ball.

I haven't played catch in a very long time unless you count playing fetch with my dog! We aren't a very sporty family, but when we go camping we tend to play frisbee or catch or other more active games. We had a game called Djubi that is a fun catch game, but we broke one of the rackets last time. I've got to order another set before our next trip.

I hadn't heard of Waboba, but just looked it up. It looks like a blast! I see they have another game coming this month called Slingair - that one looks pretty similar to Djubi!

I was wondering how many people play catch with their pets. I forget about frisbee!

Fetch definitely counts! I’ll have to look up Djubi and Slingair.

Do you enjoy playing catch? I don't play catch but I'm constantly playing fetch with my dog. She brings her Jolly Ball over whenever we are in the backyard and wants me to throw or kick it for her. Over and over (she would go until one of us dies...:)). We also throw a dog frisbee for her, a regular ball, and we have a retrieval dummy that is supposed to work on water.

I didn’t know about retrieval dummies! “She would go until someone dies” lol if only we all had boundless energy like dogs! ;)

Dexter is the same way with wanting to keep playing endlessly and will be panting so badly. I usually make him do tricks between throws, and sometimes when he needs a break I'll command him to lay down and stay, then I'll walk slowly across the yard (to give him a rest) before calling him over. He doesn't like to obey this one because he wants to be right next to me, so if he doesn't wait, then he has to lay down and try again lol. It works to give him a chance to breathe!

That's not a thing in my world these days...unless you count me sending documents to clients to e-sign and hoping they'll get sent back!

I do enjoy playing catch. I enjoy throwing a football more than just random balls.
I can't remember the last time I didn't play catch lol. 35 years, 3 kids, and 6 grands with no break in between...there's been lots of catch played at least a couple of times a week these days.
I haven't heard of Waboba, but it sounds like something I should check out for vacation time!

Whenever I'm asked to play games requiring aiming, throwing and/or catching, I remind people I have other talents. :rofl My hand eye coordination is not great and people are constantly trying to "fix" me when I play these kinds of games. They are surprised that no amount of practicing will actually help me improve. Lol. Sometimes I can roll with and just accept that I stink, but sometimes I get really annoyed at the constant attention and "helpful" comments. I'm like... just let me suck okay? Lol!

I honestly have no idea when I've played catch -- I'm actually not very good at catching balls (or anything else). But I have played with my grandson some with a lighter, not small ball, to try and help him improve his skills.

You're the first to mention throwing a football! I like the challenge of trying to throw a perfect spiral.

You should definitely tell them "Just let me suck okay?" lol though it sounds like they're the type that won't even listen to that. I'm one of those "helpful" people. Sorry!

I think it's great you play with your grandson to help him develop those skills even though it's not your best talent.
