I go back in time … long time ago … to the year 1988. That year we were on a camping in near Arcachon …
We were on vacation with my husband's niece and her boyfriend. Our son was 9 at the time and with the five of us we spent a lot of time in the pool ...

One song that swung through the boxes every hour was 'bleu come toi' by Etienne Daho .... we loved it …

One of our vacation souvenirs that year was the 45 rpm record of 'blue come toi'

Talking about big time slip, I just watched a comedy/police story French movie and this song famous in the late 80' in France was all over the movie lol
It feels a bit "ringard" now but it made me giggle

I have a friend who loves all of François Deguelt's songs, and one summer she couldn't stop singing "Le ciel, le soleil et la mer." The sky, the sun and the sea. When I hear this song now, many memories come back to me.

the only summer themed song I can think of is from one of my mum's albums she played when I was a child. "We're all going on a Summer Holiday" by Cliff Richards
 
Oh, this is super fun!! I’ve loved listening to music since I was a little girl, so there’s a song for every part of my life. This one takes me back to 1990 and reminds me of the afternoons I used to spend at the club by the pool.
 
Wow! All of these songs are the best. I'll be humming them all day now! My favorite song changes almost daily, but this one really means summer to me. "Sunny and 75" sung by Joe Nichols.

For me is Chris Isaak - Wicked Game. It was for a long time my favorite song and it will always remember me of my first seaside escape with my boyfriend from that time.
 
Ok, this may seem odd, but the song that makes me think of summer - I never really got a "true" summer with my kids because I worked. But I was off work at 2pm every day, and would randomly take the day off to spend with them at the water park or the zoo or the movies. The song that will ALWAYS bring me back to summertime is the Phineas and Ferb theme song. My kids LOVED this show and the Disney Channel would always do a big countdown to when the show would release for the summer. This summer Disney+ released a brand new season of the show at the beginning of summer and I almost started crying when I walked in from work one day and my 18 year old daughter was watching it! I dropped everything and we finished the rest of the season together :)

I am dating myself but every time I hear this song, I can see and hear our boom box blasting at the neighborhood pool! Summers in the 1980s-what a time.
