Voted! but i don't really care either! i've read both Little Earthquakes and The Giver, but both were amazing and I'd read them again!

When are we ending the poll to get started? How long are we going to give everyone to read? A month?

I'm still working on the fever series so I can finally go in and read that thread. I've avoided it like the plague so I don't ruin any surprises. :) I've been known to read several books at once though, so it won't slow me down... much! :)

Good questions Karen! With 23 votes, it looks like "the Giver" is taking the lead. We should probably give it another day, and then see what comes out in front.

And I think a month sounds good. Especially for June - school here runs till almost the end of June, so that makes time disappear very quickly (not to mention mix in some soccer tourneys and there goes the weekends).

lol Well, at least I won't have to buy the Giver. I think my sister has my copy that I had to read for school. (in middle school, high school, and college lol)

Well, we now know who can lead the discussion afterwards! :giggle

OK, we're going to close the poll.

We're reading
The Giver by Lois Lowry AND
Matched by Ally Condie
for July 8th
We'll open with a chat and then have a discussion forum too.

Sooooo exciting!!

I read the giver last night before bed. Yes the entire thing, I was up way too late, LOL I just reached a point where I couldn't put it down and had to finish it.

I broke down and bought Matched for my e-reader since the wait list at my library was HUGE! It sounds really good, I'm excited to read it!

I just gave in and ordered them both from Amazon too, I couldn't wait for the library! :lol I'm looking forward to getting started!

I am listening to the Giver as an audio book on my pc.... great company while I scrap! :)

It took me way longer than it should to read The Giver. I was traveling and I've been so busy. I kept falling asleep...even on the plane! lol I've read it before, but wanted to reread it. I'm into The Matched right now. Again, I'm so tired by the time I sit down to read that I can't get more than 10 - 15 min reading time. I think I need to read when I wake up at 4 am and can't get back to sleep! Obviously, that's why I'm so tired at night!

The Giver is a real fast read, I had to force myself to read in two days and not in a whole setting, but I couldn't drag it out more than that. Matched is also very smooth but a bit longer. I'm glad we picked both for this month!

I am still waiting for Matched from the library - I probably won't get it in time. But I just realized I'll be missing the chat. No Internet (and no power most of the day either) where I'll be on vacay!

I did pick up "Gathering Blue" and loved it. Also now reading "The Messenger"!
