Do you own any musical instruments?
DH bought me an electronic piano a long time ago. I only use it when I know I have to play piano at church.

Do you play any musical instruments?
I took piano lessons when I was little and still know how to play. I also learned how to play a ukulele in elementary school.

What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to?
Piano or guitar.

I used to own a clarinet. I recently donated it to a Middle School Program.

I can play clarinet, saxophone and some
On the piano.

I love listening to woodwinds and string ensembles.

Took flute lessons one summer ... I think the summer before 7th grade, but it's been 50+ years so I'm not sure. Then I took band in middle school (7th & 8th grade) and "played" the clarinet. Clarinet then got passed down to the next sister ... none of us took band in high school.

We didn't have a piano growing up so no piano lessons, but Mom played.

I live with musicians. My husband plays piano, clarinet, guitar and drums. My eldest is a composition student, and plays the flute, Base, and Drums. My son plays trombone in his university concert band. My youngest plays lead violin in 2 children's orchestras. Me? I used to play recorders in an Elizabethan band but that was long ago. I still own the instruments but haven't played for a long while. I used to play flute too, but preferred playing Elizabethan music.

I tried piano but honestly I have no musical talent...I just plain suck at it.. sounds like nails on a chalk board

That’s so nice you could donate it! I love that you can play three instruments; good work!

That’s fun you tried flute and clarinet. My mom plays the flute but I’ve never tried it.

I love that your family is so musical Angela. My oldest is the most musical; she plays piano, guitar and drums.

It’s definitely not for everyone lol my older sister is soooooo much better than me at piano.

I took piano lessons for a few years from my mom's aunt. She was a piano teacher for many years and the organist for her church for at least 50 years.

I took up clarinet in 5th or 6th grade and played it all through junior and senior high school. Our high school marching band was an all brass band so I had to switch instruments for it. I played alto sax my first year then baritone for the last 2 years. Our high school was only grades 10/11/12 at that time because of the size of the classes going through the school system. My class was the largest and we graduated 255 (town of about 9,000).

We got rid of the clarinet not long after I graduated. The piano is still sitting in the living room. Hasn't been played for years so I'm sure it is out of tune. It is a really old upright piano and makes a great backdrop for dog photos.

“makes a great backdrop for dog photos” made me smile. ;) You have played quite a few instruments! My high school was only grades 10-12 also; I think there were 400 my age.

Do you own any musical instruments? I don't really, but there's a trumpet of my son's collecting dust in the basement. I think we'll end up donating it to our church/school.

Do you play any musical instruments? I used to play flute and piccolo. I doubt I could anymore sadly. I also took piano lessons as a kid, but I was never very good at it. My son bought a full sized keyboard and I've often thought I should set it up and start playing again.

What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to? Probably piano. Or a full orchestra.

I own a piano and play from time to time. I took lesson until about 11th grade and was decent but not great. My son is super musical and considered becoming a musician before he decided to take a more practical path. He could pretty much play any instrument out there from bassoon to accordion but was fantastic on the trombone and piano. He mostly gave up the trombone when he went to college but he has a really nice piano-like keyboard that he can play so he has kept up with piano. I love to listen to him play and often wonder how in the world he got so good given his parent's relatively lame musical abilities! :D

You guys are talking my love language.

Do you own any musical instruments? Yes! Piano, keyboard, violin, cello, guitars, bass, glockenspiel (hopefully one day soon a real full-fledged xylophone), mandolin, ukulele, and drums.

Do you play any musical instruments?
Out of all of those, the only one I play is the piano. LOL! I took lessons from 2nd grade all the way through college.
All of my kids play musical instruments. It's mandatory in this household. LOL! My hubby plays several instruments. My 2nd daughter is our really musical one. She's at school for a music degree and loves to write, compose and teach music. We just went to our 3rd music recital last night. I just love it.

What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to?
My kids playing piano and violin together.
Although Cello is my absolute favorite instrument to listen to...sadly none of my kids have learned how to play it proficiently yet. But they do beautifully on the piano and violin.

If you played through 11th grade I bet you’re good! I can’t remember how old I was when I quit lessons; 12 maybe? That’s cool your son could play any instrument.

That’s a lot of instruments! I love that playing an instrument is mandatory in your house; it’s a good skill to have. I love that your kids play the instruments together too; I bet it’s beautiful!

I had piano lessons for a few years when I was young, and I also played the flute for a few years. I'm just ok at it.
I inherited my parents piano so all my kids take piano lessons and have gotten pretty good. They all do another instrument as well starting in junior high. So far one did saxophone, one percussion, and one trumpet. My youngest will start percussion next year. They all have a gift for it, much more than I do!
