Chili | Pad Patter 2.22.24

Do you like chili? Not really.

When's the last time you ate chili? Probably over 30 years ago. Mom would make it and I would pick out the meat and dip crackers in to eat it since I didn't like the beans. She died in 1996 and pretty much had stopped cooking a couple years before that. She never taught Dad or I how to make it. I did just find her recipe. She used kidney beans and Brooks brand chili beans and browned hamburger along with tomato sauce and tomato juice.

My kids don’t love browned hamburger either so I’ve started making ours with chicken instead so they don’t have to pick out the meat.

Oh, I love the browned hamburger! That's what I would eat out of Mom's chili. I hate the beans.

I love chili! The spicier the better!

Canned or homemade?
Homemade! I make it often, especially in the winter.

When’s the last time you ate chili?
I made it a couple of weeks ago.

Have you ever entered or won a chili cook off competition?
Never have.

Luv Chili, and I prefer it with noodles.

Canned or homemade?
I prefer home made, but I'm okay with canned when I'm feeling lazy.

When’s the last time you ate chili? A FEW WEEKS AGO WHEN MY GRANDCHILDREN'S OTHER GRAMPA BOUGHT HUGE BUCKETS OF WENDY'S CHILI FOR ALL OF US.
Have you ever entered or won a chili cook off competition? NO, BUT I SEE MY MOM FACILITY HAS A CONTEST IN THE FALL SO I MAY ENTER SOME WHITE CHICKEN CHILLI!
