Happy Monkey Day!

Our family loves to watch fail videos, so when I think of monkeys I think of all the fail videos I’ve seen of monkeys stealing things from tourists.

Have you ever seen a monkey in person?
Have you ever had a monkey steal something from you?
Do you or a loved one have a favorite monkey, the real kind or the stuffed kind?

Since it’s paper pack sale day for the December Deal Days, I’m also going to share one cute monkey paper pack from The Lilypad store. If you know of others please share them below too!

Obviously we've seen monkey's in the zoos. When we were on a working holiday in India, we saw them running around wild in the town we stayed at. They've not stollen anything from me, but we heard that they are known to take food stuffs if left lying around unattended.

Have you ever seen a monkey in person? Yes many times in zoos and when I was in costa rica as an exchange student they lived all around me and would often hang about. I LOVED IT! but not their loud voices at the crack of dawn in the morning. It was deafening!

Have you ever had a monkey steal something from you? Yes actually a part of my mango!

Do you or a loved one have a favorite monkey, the real kind or the stuffed kind? I had a stuffed monkey as a child that I loved and my son Kai has a sock monkey he has had since he was really young that is named "Monkey Corn" (it is candy corn colored, orange, yellow, white.. made of fuzzy socks). But I frankly love all monkeys! I find them very fascinating and neat to watch and look at! They are my favorite thing to watch at the zoos when we go. I can sit and watch them for hours! they are so silly!

I love this monkey kit!

I've seen monkey's at zoos, never been to any country where they are free.

I absolutely love sock monkeys. Mentioned that once on Instagram, and one of my friends there made me one. Realized I need to scrap about that - it was such an unexpected gift, I still smile when I see him. He's sitting on the lap of my Buddha, they are best friends. (Sorry, not sure if it's sacrilege or not :giggle)

Anyway - this reminded me of this oldie from the gallery:

That’s fun you saw monkeys in India Angela. I love those papers from Valorie too!

I didn’t know you were an exchange student in Costa Rica! Very cool!

I haven’t been to a zoo for way too long but now I want to go watch monkeys there.

What a fun page Eva! I also love the story of your monkey gift; so sweet. I look forward to seeing that page too. ;)

Have you ever seen a monkey in person?
At the zoo and, I can't remember where I was but, I have a distinct memory of being somewhere as a little girl where there was a man walking around with one of the little monkeys.

Have you ever had a monkey steal something from you?
Not that I can recall, but it seems like we gave that little monkey peanuts lol

Do you or a loved one have a favorite monkey, the real kind or the stuffed kind?
I adore sock monkeys...I have several of them! And a favorite sock monkey hat :)

I have seen monkeys, but I don't really like seeing them at the zoos. You just know they are supposed to have more space to run and play. I've seen them a couple times in the wild too. There was a beach in St. Kitts that we went to many times hoping to see the monkey there because they were known for coming up and stealing unattended drinks and drinking them. Lol. We never saw them there, but did a couple other places in St. Kitts.

Then again when we went to a resort in Mexico that had a huge section of wild forest, there was a bunch of howler moneys that lived there. We saw them playing in the trees there and then they would come to our balcony during different times of the day. They stayed there distance there though, which we fine with me. It was just cool to see them.

Have you ever seen a monkey in person? Yep, I've been to the place that is often in those monkey videos in Bali. We've also seen monkeys in the forests in Costa Rica.
Have you ever had a monkey steal something from you? No -- but they sure will if you aren't careful. I kept a tight hold on my purse and camera. We did buy bananas to feed the Bali monkeys anyway.
Do you or a loved one have a favorite monkey, the real kind or the stuffed kind? I'm not sure if it's a monkey but I LOVE orangutans - such cool animals. When my hubby was a kid, he had a friend who had a tiny monkey so DH has always wanted to have a monkey.

That’s fun you’ve seen them in the wild Karen. I would definitely want them to keep their distance lol

That’s crazy your husband’s friend had a pet monkey! I wonder if they make good pets…

I love to watch monkey videos and to see them in person when I am somewhere they are! My dad has always been told by his older brothers that their parents brought home a monkey, shaved him and cut off his tail and that was how they got him as a little brother-- so my uncles always told my brother and I that when we were little. My husband's last name (and now mine) is Prang, so he was called OrangaPrang when he worked construction after college. {His call sign was Puerto Rican Air National Guard (PRANG) when he was a Naval Flight Officer (like Goose in TopGun- the guy who sits in the back seat of a plane and does the radar observations)}
I have never had anything stolen from me by a monkey, but my son has always had a sock monkey since he was a little guy. One of my daughters has a friend who had a pet monkey- they used to put her in clothes and carry her around. I think she was a spider monkey, she wore a diaper most of the time and loved to go to the lake in a little bikini and float around on an inner tube.

Here is my son as a little one with his sock monkey in his crib:

That photo is the sweetest Kelly.

A monkey in a bikini at the lake?! Now that’s something you don’t see every day!
