A hearty congrats to @amien1 for being chosen to win the $3 voucher for this game. Keep an eye on your inbox, I will PM you shortly.

Back in the day I used to send out Christmas cards and letters detailing our year. I also loved receiving cards and used them in my Christmas decor. I switched to Christmas emails in a newsletter style as the children grew up and I still really love this yearly tradition.

This year I would like to know...
1. Do you send out Christmas cards (paper or digital)
2. Do you send out a newsletter?

I used Anita Design's : A Christmas Story Collection and A December Story Captured vol 5 Template Set, which was super easy to customize.

We have some super template options in store:

Newsletter style

Customizable Christmas card style

Stamps that could be added over any photo, or used to pretty up a template.

Rules:
You get 1 ticket in the random drawing for answering the questions and a bonus chance to win, if you share your card or newsletter here.

This challenge closes on Monday, November 13 at 11:59pm EST. A random entry will win a $3 coupon to The Lilypad store.

I did an email newsletter ONCE... I used to send cards... now it's more of a Whatsapp to family or close friends and a general facebook post... that's about it.
My aunt has sent out a Christmas newsletter for as long as I've been alive! It used to be posted but now also just emailed. I love getting them every year.

Some years we do cards. I'm not thinking this year will be one of them.

One year our card photo was us decorating our banana tree in the backyard. Another year, we took our photos in the (drained) fountain where a local shopping center set up their tree. Of course, I can't find them to share right now

I make my own Christmas cards, but am a bit late starting this year. We don't send a newsletter.

I send a Christmas newsletter and usually put it inside a Christmas card on which I write a personal note to the recipient. However, this is time consuming and I find my list shrinking. Sometimes I send just a digital copy of the newsletter only to friends rather than an actual physical mailing.

I'm definitely a throwback. I send cards with handwritten notes inside. I'll be starting in the next few days. My one concession to technology is to use printed address labels on the envelopes.

I do cards still- and sometimes a lil write up on the back. This year- I just did cards and then photos of kids' school pics on the backs.
This year's: I don't have them yet, so a photo of my computer screen! lol

I've never done a newsletter.

I haven't send cards in about 2 or 3 years, and probably won't send them this year, either. But I do love to receive cards, which then makes me feel guilty for not having bothered to send my own.

I used to send cards, now just text messages by phone to friends and relatives, or some post in FB, and that's all.

Yes to cards, but for just about forever, it was a "decorated" photo and sentiment that I would create and print myself. Generally a letter was included. Now that it is the first year of it being only me, I really don't know how to approach it...

We typically send a newsletter in snail mail. We've moved so much we have friends and family all over the country. However, we haven't been very good about getting these out over the last few years. I like the email idea, but I have very few email addresses.

We still send out cards, though I've gone cheap over the years and started just sending a 4x6 photo print of something I put together using photos and scrap products in Photoshop. I can usually print 100 of them at 9 cents apiece at Walgreens which is WAY cheaper than the 2 sided cards I used to order, so I have a hard time going back and spending the money for the nicer photo cards.

My mom and grandma still send newsletters, but if I'm honest, I feel like they include too many details - like, I don't like reading about the declining health of family members at Christmastime. As I got older, I would pre-screen my mom's newsletter to make sure she wasn't marrying me off early or something - I didn't want too much detail about my life in the letters she was sending out to everyone! lol My mom also used to send individual photos of each of her kids and their families, which was just overkill, so for the last 5 or 6 years, I've been collecting all the photos and creating one 4x6 collage of them so she is only sending out 1 photo in her cards. It can be difficult because the photos come in varying orientations, plus her grandkids are older and now send individual photos instead of a group shot with several of them together, so it has become quite the puzzle - but I'm happy to save her the money she was spending on all those individual photos she was printing and sending.

1. Do you send out Christmas cards (paper or digital)
I send out paper cards to my parents and siblings and anyone who sends one to me. I should send digital to my extended family; thanks for the idea!

2. Do you send out a newsletter?
My mom sends out a newsletter sometimes but I never have. I think I might this year. One of my high school friends does and I love reading it.

Cards. Not last year because I had the flu followed by Covid and didn’t care. Some years I hand make them other years just photo cards. Depends on my mood.

I haven't sent any cards in a few years since Christmas has been depressing these past few years, but this year I'm determined to get back into the spirit. I'm making 600 cards for the local nursing homes whose residents don't have anyone to visit them. Here's one of them - and ignore the crooked bow - I fixed it as soon as I saw the picture :)

Thanks to everyone for playing along with my challenge.
Random will help me draw a winner.

Marilyn - I think you should still send a card if you want to. It serves as a good reminder to folks you know that you're open to socializing :wub (((hugs)))
