I found a killer deal on plane tickets from the USA to Sao Paulo Brazil so I jumped on it - our whole family is going at the end of March/beginning of April! Many years ago, before we were married, my husband lived in Brazil (in MG) and has always wanted to go back. We are excited but also a little overwhelmed! Any Brazilian friends have any advice on what we should see/do? We have 10 days and could travel a bit, but will probably want to stay near Sao Paulo. We haven't made any solid plans yet but we are super excited!

sounds fantastic!

OMG @Lynnette , that's awesome!! yes, I live in Brazil, actually, near São Paulo, in a city by the beach called Santos.

you have to keep in mind that Brazil has dimensions of a continent itself, so there's A LOT to visit and do here...I haven't been to half of the Brazilian States yet...

so, as you don't have many days to spend going on and off São Paulo, I'd ask what things your family prefer doing, like visiting the beach, parks, museums...the city of São Paulo could be compared to New York, it never sleeps and is super busy, you have some of the best restaurants in the world, there are parks, zoo, ethinical places like a Japanese neighboorhood, arabian, greek...
it's not far from small cities where you can fly in balloons, there are great beaches within a 1h - 2h hours drive...

I know that @duniascrap and @paula kesselring are Brazilians too, I'm sure we can help you with tips and advices!!

That’s exciting Lynnette! We’re not travelers but a lot of the Pad peeps are so I hope you get lots of ideas!

I'm so excited for you!!!!
Sao Paulo is a city as big as New York, there are so many things to do, if you want stay just around Sao Paulo there beaches, mountains etc in short trips or you can add another big City like Rio de Janeiro that is an hour flight. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Yes, I understand that Brazil is as big as the USA, so it's not realistic to see very much in one trip. We thought about trying to visit MG while there but it really would take a lot of time to travel there and back! We definitely want to spend some time on the beach, and we will probably try to find a tour that will give us a variety of different experiences, or show us many parts of the area. I love to do all the things when I travel to truly experience a place.

We (me and fiance) re-visited MG last year, we went to a few historic cities and I enjoyed a lot, it was so far one of the best trips we did...the food and all the places we saw, were amazing. There's an open air art museum, called Inhotim, this place is stunning, I really want to come back one day, it's near Belo Horizonte.

About São Paulo, you can find many different tours and touristic guides, for sure, this way you can add visiting the beach(this period of the year is always hot and sunny) and the city or mountains on your trip!! you can ask me anything via DM as well!

So exciting! take a lot of pictures, have fun and relax. If possible contact some scrappers friends, I'm sure they will be happy to give you some advice and maybe meet.
