I pronounce is pe-khan. I grew up in area where they grew in people's yards and I've never had a pecan cookie. Lots of pecans that I opened myself but no pecan cookies. Pie on the other hand. Lots of that.

My Aunt makes the best Pecan Pie I have ever had Also we use pecans in a spiced nut recipe at the holidays.. love pecans.. they are my favorite!

Yes re pecan cookie.. I love the Keebler pecan shortbread ones

Sultana Raisin Biscuit (similar to the old Nabisco Raisin cookies... I get the Sultana Raisin Biscuits at the Asian Grocery by us.)

Lots of my cookies call for pecans and if they call for walnuts, I often replace the walnuts with pecans. Yum.

I love pecans!
My favorite cookies are the Toll House recipe Chocolate Chip cookies, made with 12 oz Ghiradelli semisweet + 6 oz Ghiradelli milk chocolate chips and I add in 1 cup of chopped pecans.
