Change of Seasons | Pad Patter 9.10

I look forward to cooler nights, but I dislike the shorter days, and I am NOT looking forward to winter and snow ... we've been light on snow the last couple of years, so we're due to get slammed at some point.
I feel the same about the shorter days, and I'd probably really like fall if I didn't know that winter was right on it's heels. I hate winter so much. And yep, we've been super light on the snow the last couple of years as well, and that scares me!

I live in the Phoenix area where we've now broken all heat records this year with 54 days (including the Saturday two days ago) hitting at least 110. I can't adequately express how much I'm looking forward to cooler weather. I always look forward to fall (which really hits in mid-October) and dread late Spring.
I might feel the same about fall if I were dealing with those temps. We've been hovering around 90 and I love it, but 110 is a different story lol

I'm looking forward to the end of hurricane season at the end of November.
Yes, I'm sure that's always a relief!! My family owns a condo on the SC coast and I always worry a little during hurricane season.

I love fall here in Florida, when the humidity starts to dissipate some. The temperature dips as well, but it's in winter at the beginning months of the year that we have most of our super cold weather (for here anyway). We don't really have any changing leaves here. They are there and then they are on the ground. LOL

I like Halloween for the candy. My decorating style is more dark and moody, but not creepy or scary. I actually end up squishing the two holidays together.

This year, I'm still uncertain about our moving schedule, so right now I won't be decorating for any of the upcoming holidays. I hate to go to all the trouble and then have to pack it up.
I think I would love Florida fall, and winter for that matter lol.
Yep, holiday decorating and moving don't work real well together!

As I've gotten older I like all the seasons and always look forward to change and the next one coming. I especially love fall colors and October has the best golden light!
I've learned to appreciate them a little more and tried to work on not dreading fall and winter like I used to. I still do to a certain extent, but I try to look at it like what I have to look forward to when it's over.
And yes! October skies are the best!!

Seasons are not particularly pronounced in England. There's definitely a difference between summer and winter most years, but they tend to flow from one to the other with Spring and Autumn being transitional but not distinct if that makes sense. New things grow in spring, and leaves fall in the Autumn most years, but some years Spring arrives and the Autumnal leaves haven't fallen yet. Or snow comes in-between Spring and Summer. It can get confusing. Generally it's wet and cool season, or wet and warm season; with the occasional week(s) of cold or hot.

So interesting. I don't think I'd ever realized that the season changes were more subtle in England, and confusing lol

Are you looking forward to the change in seasons, wherever you are?
I live in Brazil, so we don't have seasons really defined like in the north hemisphere. Here should be hot, hot like hell, endless rain...so I'm not very happy with summer being just around the corner, especially this year as El Niño and all the climate changes, we had super high temperatures instead of winter...we had almost 40°C in the middle of winter!

Do you decorate for the seasons?
only for xmas! I love the lights, trees, all the buildings decorated...but this year, with our puppy home, I don't think we can have a tree...

I can't wait. Our dams are full and so I feel any further rain and wintery temperatures are overkill. It's been so cold and with load shedding we can't do any heating and kettle boiling. So I am over Winter and over the load shedding.
We don't generally decorate for Halloween/Fall either. Our trees don't do all those pretty colours. We take blankets out in Winter and the cats are more cuddly.

I'm a summer girl too! But I do enjoy the change of season. Fall is good...it's winter that I really don't like.
What I like about fall are some of the activities - Fair, local pumpkin roll, etc...

Fall is my favorite season. I do like summer, but I can't handle the humidity. I definitely prefer the cooler weather. I love to decorate with all kinds of pumpkins and cute fall decor. And of course, I love pumpkin everything! We go all out for Halloween and Christmas decorating, too! My husband just checked the weather for tomorrow morning and it's supposed to be 60 at the start of my son's baseball game. Jeans and sweatshirts are much better than shorts and tanks!
