Happy July everyone!

Have you had a chance to check out the Summer Bucket List event? https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/summer-bucket-list-event.88954/ This week’s theme is celebrations and vacations so I thought it would be fun to chat about the weekly theme.

What is the last thing you celebrated?
What is the most memorable celebration you attended?
Where is the last place you went on vacation?
What was your most memorable vacation?

What is the last thing you celebrated?
4th of July with fireworks, cake and ice cream

What is the most memorable celebration you attended?
I’ll have to think more on this one…

Where is the last place you went on vacation?
Disneyland! We went with my parents and three of my siblings and their kids. Good times.

What was your most memorable vacation?
We went to Florida a lot growing up because my cousins lived there. It was always very memorable because I did once in a lifetime things like go hang gliding and swim with manatees.

What is the last thing you celebrated? 4th of July. We watched the local fireworks on our boat.

What is the most memorable celebration you attended? I would have to say my wedding

Where is the last place you went on vacation? Mexico, last April

What was your most memorable vacation? Hmmm.... probably the trip my hubby and I took to visit his sister in St. Kitts before we were married. She was going to veterinary school there and lived there, so we were able to stay at her apartment, so it wasn't expensive once we flew there, so we stayed for almost 3 weeks and were able to see SO much of the island together. We went scuba diving like 5 different times which was amazing!

How fun to watch fireworks from your boat!

I didn’t even think about my wedding haha snarr thinking!

That trip to St. Kitts sounds awesome, especially the scuba diving! I would love to try scuba someday but I don’t know if I’m brave enough…

What is the last thing you celebrated?
July 4th! Cookout with family and friends, surprise helicopter rides, and fireworks!

What is the most memorable celebration you attended?
Going with what Karen said - my wedding.

Where is the last place you went on vacation?
The last place we traveled was Louisville, Kentucky for an archery competition in March. It was a sort of vacation for our family.
If that doesn't count it would have to be last summer to the beach.

What was your most memorable vacation?
As a child going out west. With my hubby and family, it would probably be our Washington DC trip a few years ago.

What is the last thing you celebrated? Fourth of July
What is the most memorable celebration you attended? Fourth of July fireworks at Disney World!
Where is the last place you went on vacation? Atlanta, GA
What was your most memorable vacation? Probably New Orleans. My best friend and I went to a concert and explored the city.

Surprise helicopter rides?! Very cool!

An archery competition totally counts! We’re going to a softball tournament the end of this month and I’m definitely calling it a vacation.

Fourth of July Disney fireworks sound awesome!

I missed my chance to go to New Orleans with my family because I was in high school and didn’t want to miss school/sports. I wish I’d gone!

If you can, add it to your travel list!! I loved the history of it, nowhere else I've traveled compared in terms of culture and history.

What is the last thing you celebrated? Fourth of July with my children and grandchildren. Enjoyed Fireworks that my son & son-in-law set off.
What is the most memorable celebration you attended? 50th wedding anniversary for my daughter's in-laws. It was actually their 52 due to having to delay it due to covid.
Where is the last place you went on vacation? Pigeon Forge TN
What was your most memorable vacation? Just hubby and I it would be Las Vegas (we did day trips around Vegas so we went to California, Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam). If it included the kids I would say our big last vacation to Outer Banks which included my grown kids and the grandkids (we had beach photos taken which I love).

I’m glad you enjoyed the 4th with your children and grandchildren.

Your Vegas and OBX vacations sound fun!

What is the last thing you celebrated? Just wrapped up a four day family reunion, ended on the 4th of July
What is the most memorable celebration you attended? This one has me stumped... not sure!
Where is the last place you went on vacation? Disneyland & Sea World for spring break
What was your most memorable vacation? We did a family vacation to Banff in 2018 - the longest road trip we've ever done and the scenery was incredible! Also first time out of the USA for all of our kids

What is the last thing you celebrated? Went to a celebration of life on Thursday for the last remaining aunt on my mom's side of the family. Was good to see her son from Texas and granddaughter that is currently living in Louisiana.
What is the most memorable celebration you attended? The family gathering in July 2021 at my house that had 5 of the 6 grandchildren there, only the one living in Texas was missing. Two of my cousins realized that the last time they saw each other was in 1996 at my mom's funeral. Special memories were made that day.
Where is the last place you went on vacation? Visit to family vacation - my dad in North Carolina in 2016. Vacation not including family - cruise in 2010.
What was your most memorable vacation? cruise in 2010.

That’s fun you end your reunion with the 4th.

We’re thinking about SeaWorld for our next vacation. Did you and your family like it?

I’m glad you were able to see family at the celebration of life recently.

Good job hosting such a memorable get together! Those special memories will last forever.

I’ve never been on a cruise but I’d love to try one some day.

We did! I would only plan on one day, we felt like we got to do pretty much everything in a day. The dolphin show is a must see!

What is the last thing you celebrated? - My birthday - July 3rd. It was a quiet family affair and we stayed in to spend time together as a family. DH and the kids cooked - was fun to watch while sipping wine.
What is the most memorable celebration you attended? - Oh, that's a hard one.. The most amazing party we've ever been to was German Octoberfest in Jakarta in 2005 - at least that's the one that comes to mind first, but I'm sure there were other memorable celebrations.
Where is the last place you went on vacation? We are on vacation currently - Finland - middle of nowhere by the lake at a house we've owned for two decades.
What was your most memorable vacation? - Oh, impossible to say... we've taken plenty amazing trips, both to exotic places and just to visit family... but I'd probably say summers in Finland - where we currently are - is the one constant in our life that we all have memories of and where everyone is always happy to return to. If you were to ask our kids where they'd like to go for holidays, they'd say Finland.
