Sometimes my hubby is watching TV in the room right next to my computer desk (in the dining room) and will be listening to something SO loudly that I can't even function, so he'll connect his airpods to his phone and listen to the TV that way. I love it! Also, sometimes we will both connect to our headphones if he wants to listen to something louder than I do, that way we both can hear the program and I don't complain about how loud it is. :giggle He totally needs hearing aids too, just hasn't looked into them yet.

YES! I did know that! In fact, I used to have Daniel wear them when he was watching stampylonghead on YouTube (gamer who played Minecraft) because I couldn't bear to hear his voice and his laugh (after thousands of hours of videos LOL).

Jay also likes using his headphones to watch movies. It is so nice not to have to hear what he decides to watch. Not that I am much better at content, as I tend to like true crime, and it's often crazy.
 
How often do you look at your phone?
During the week when I'm at work it's usually just in the morning, at lunch, and at the end of the day. A lot more when I'm home. I'll pick it up every little bit to check for notifications since it's on silent most of the time lol

Do you text more or call?
Definitely text. I think my mom and telemarketers are the only people that call me haha

What do you wish your phone could do?
Not sure, other than clean my house lol

How do you feel if you leave your phone at home?
I get super nervous, which I still think is so weird. I never had a phone until I was in my mid to late 20's, so I drove a lot never having one and it never occurred to me to be nervous lol. I always feel like that will be the time that something happens and I need it.
 
For my android, it is when messages come in, for fb when I need to fill time. I do carry it with me always because my DD may text if she needs help at home or with my grandchild and of course, he is #1! I have been accused of "not being available" because after the message tone only sounds once, so I may have missed a message!"

LOL! I was 40 when I got my first cellular phone and it was for phone calls only. And, it wasn't used much because you paid roaming charges by the day, I think $3 per day! Mom got it for me just 6 months before she died because she worried about me on my drive to work that was on a road that even though it is a state highway there were not many places to stop if needing help. Dad and I did take it with us to his Navy reunion in case Mom needed to get in touch with us for an emergency. We called her once to check in and another time when we were about 15 miles from home. And, it wasn't always able to get reception. I had to call my work while in Florida that Christmas and I had to go out to the parking lot to get a connection.

I still had a plain old flip phone in 2010 but I could at least text if I wanted on that one. I was in no hurry to get a smart phone.
 
How often do you look at your phone?
I try not to get on my phone until lunchtime and then just to check in. I ignore all the things so I can focus on my kids & schoolwork. I like using my computer to check my e-mail and Facebook messages. Actually, if I can do it on my computer I will avoid using my phone. I have all notifications turned off. I don't really like looking at my phone so I don't read on it. I probably use it mostly to take pics and videos...and I spend some time posting those on Instagram.

Do you text more or call? I prefer texting. I do not like talking on the phone.

What do you wish your phone could do? Automatically know when we are out of food and put a grocery order in for me. LOL! Oh, that is one thing I do - order groceries on my phone.

How do you feel if you leave your phone at home? I actually forget it at home a lot. Once I realize that I don't have it, I have a little panic attack and hope nothing bad happens...then I remind myself that I drove all over the place as a teen girl and young 20-year-old and did okay for myself.

LOL My first phone was a bag phone in the car and you didn't dare use it unless it was an emergency because of charges, and you were lucky to have any reception at all. I only got it because I was taking night classes out of town and pregnant at the time. My first actual carry around cell phone I got when I was like 35ish.

Yeah, my cousin got one of those bag phones. She lives in a hollow in southeastern Ohio and couldn't even use it at her home. They had to drive to an area that wasn't as hilly. She still has a landline because cell reception isn't always the best even with more and better towers being built.

My first one was one with the little antenna that was not movable and it wasn't a flip phone. Big and clunky compared to today's phones!

Tile. LOL! Or if you have Apple, maybe airtag? With the Tile, I can hit it on my keys or on my phone and it'll find the other one. My Google Home will also call my phone when I lose it. Because I inevitably set my phone down in the weirdest places some days. I get distracted and set it on the printer, where it slides down into the paper feeder and *poof* I can't find it.
 
How often do you look at your phone?
Probably too much. I'm an avid Podcast listener so, I'll check my phone if I'm changing podcasts. Or photos. I take a lot of photos in the house with my phone. I'll use it a lot for notes and to check my calendar. It's also the easiest way to check on munchkin's schoolwork. And I play puzzle games on it.
I don't have many notifications, so it's easy to ignore if I want to ignore it.

Text. Businesses are really the only places I have to call anymore. And I wish hospice would text and not insist on talking to me in person! Just text me and I'll tell you I'm home or not.

What do you wish your phone could do?
Have the full keyboard that my old rumor phone used to have. I hate using the screen keyboards. In fact, I got an actual Bluetooth keyboard for my phone for my birthday. Apparently my family understands this pain of mine. :giggle

How do you feel if you leave your phone at home?
Meh. It depends. I like the freedom of not having it, but I'm more likely to just leave it in the car when I'm running errands just in case. Too many people need to be able to get ahold of me. Or if there's an accident, I'd like to be able to take photos.

As a total sidenote to the landline conversation:
I ended up buying my mother in law a device that turned a landline handset into a bluetooth handset for her cell phone. She can't work the cellphone anymore, so this lets her have the landline without changing numbers or dealing with the extra expense of the landline. It's a pretty cool idea!

Oh my GOSH! My kids loved stampylongnose so I absolutely know how annoying his voice and laugh was! :giggle I did appreciate that he kept all his posts appropriate for kids though!

I agree! He really thought of the kids and how he spoke! I detested his voice. Headphones helped!

I have an iPhone and I don't know what any of those things are. It's ok. I almost never misplace my phone. It has its own spot wherever I go.
 
How often do you look at your phone?
According to my screen time data on my phone, I spend a daily average of 5hrs on my phone. It's only 11:38 am here and I have picked up my phone 29 times this morning according to my phone data. :thinking2 I think I have a problem lol. This mornings time on phone has been spent on 2 phone calls to my mother, messaging my sister, reading the news online, checking my emails and browsing Facebook and instagram.

I text more than call, the signal in the area we live is not the greatest so easier to text family and friends.

My laundry and housework lol
How do you feel if you leave your phone at home?
I enjoy it when I leave my phone at home and just enjoy the day without it
