The Winemakers Wife by Kristin Harmel was an amazing book I just finished. I find that she reminds me of Kristen Hannah. It takes a few chapters to get into it, but it really was a wonderful book. Great characters, storyline, and kept my interest going.

Twenty Years Later by Charlie Donlea was another book I just finished and I thought it was a good one. Kept me thinking and on my toes!

I haven't been reading much in the last couple of years. The last book I read though (and had to wait 4 months to get it from the library) was Laptop From Hell by Miranda Devine. And, I finally finished a physical book I had borrowed from my cousin in 2018... From Elvis to Elvira: My Life on Stage by Richard Sterban (of the Oak Ridge Boys).

I have a whole bunch of cozy mysteries on my Kindle to be read. Some are from a series so I'm just waiting until I have 4 or more and I'll just read them all at once.
 
I had a bunch of years where I was about 120-140 a year. This year I've started a little slowly, but getting into my groove. Only 10, so not my usual, but some really good books already.

I love a good cozy mystery! I also like series and wait until all are available before I start. I hate reading a series and then left hanging! Kindle Unlimited is perfect for this!

that's going to be one of the next books I'm going to read... From Kristin Harmel I read the book of lost names ...

For the moment I'm reading The Lavender Garden from Lucinda Riley ...
 
I'm not reading as much this year either -- being a guest Polly may have something to do with it (not that I'm complaining!!). I'm currently reading The Sum of Us which is a very insightful book about the effects of racism in society and how anti-racist policies help everyone to do better, not just those that are the direct victims of racism.

Oh, I'll look up the Book of Lost Names! Thanks! Her writing was really good.

For books like this, I need narration at times. I grasp it better with actual words spoken than me reading it. Odd, I know.

My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry


I loved both of these because they were both so thought provoking, leaving me thinking of them for days afterward. I rated both as 5, but curiously they both are 4.08 on Goodreads LOL. Both are supernatural which is not my normal genre of choice, but they were chosen for me by a book club. Of the two I prefer the second one - and I plan to read another by the author that is titled one of the character's names from this book.

This is what I've just started, and so far so good...

@norton94 - I read several Fredrik Backman books in 2021. Have you read the Man Called Ove? If you get a chance, I highly recommend the Swedish movie (with subtitles) by the same name. It is true to the original story. I can't bring myself to watch the Man Called Otto.

In January I read this YA series about Alexander Hamilton and his wife. I really liked it. First book is pictured.

My daughter read 'Ove' and also told me to read it :) I definitely will... I enjoyed the writers style. Thanks for the tip!!
 
Any non fiction readers here? I mostly read non fiction. I just finished Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe which is all about The Troubles in Northern Ireland in the 1970s and 80s. It was so fascinating and really well written.
Right now I'm reading a memoir, Know My Name by Chanel Miller which is tough subject matter but also well written and an important read. (She was the victim/survivor in the Brock Turner assault case that made headlines in 2015.)
