We’re moving into spring sports where I live (volleyball, soccer and softball for my kids) so let’s share our picks for a walk-up song!

Do you know what a walk-up song is? Here’s a little blurb I found online in case you don’t:

“In modern Major League Baseball, a “walk-up song” is a song played in the stadium as a player walks from the on-deck circle to home plate as they prepare for their at-bat, typically lasting around 15-30 seconds. Walk-up songs can also be played for pitchers while they enter from the bullpen and warm-up.”

My definition for today: a walk-up song is a piece of a song that gets you excited for what you’re about to do.

What song would you pick for your “walk-up song”?

I like to play softball myself so I’ve thought about this a lot even though I’ve never had a walk-up song during one of my games.

I really like the chorus of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” because it gets me pumped up and energized.

It Takes A Fool To Remain Sane with The Ark!
This was a new song to me. I think I liked the “do, do, do” part most for a walk up but there were lots of other parts that would be fun too.

My son & I talked a lot about walk-up songs last baseball season when his coach told the team to have some walk-up songs ready...and then the coach never used them. My son liked Back in Black and Thunderstruck by ACDC.

I don't know if I have a walk-up song, but my son had his end of season swim conference meet last weekend and they picked "walk-up" songs for the championship heats of each race and one of them was the theme song for the kid's cartoon Caillou. Made me chuckle!

I’ve noticed ACDC is popular at my daughter’s games!

That’s hilarious Karen! I haven’t been to a swim meet for a very long time but that’s cool they do walk up songs too.

LOVE finding walkup songs! My daughter has had a few the last few years:

-She played baseball in 8th grade in the spring with the boys because they didn't have softball for girls then- so her walk up song was:
"Come on Feel the Noise" (specifically the clip that says "GIRLS ROCK YOUR BOYS")

-For her Club softball team, her coach started calling her Hay or Hayhay- so last summer we went with:
"Hey Baby" by Gwen Stefani:

-For her Highschool slowpitch team, she was number 18 and our last name is Wheeler. Her coach said she can never be a different number as long as he coaches her since he found this one:
"Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)" by Alabama (specifically at the 3:52 mark that repeats 18 Wheeler)

They don't really do walkup songs for Hockey- but one of the mom's does the music during intermissions and she always throws in a couple "thunder" songs since my son plays for Coeur d'Alene Thunder hockey. There's quite a few good thunder songs!

FOR ME! Hmmm- I guess it'd be something in the 90's rap era- since those are my jams...
probably either:
"Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" by Dr Dre
OR
"Ghetto Superstar" by Pras featuring Ol' Dirty B & Mya

I love that your daughter had a song that was her name and number!

I also love your "Ghetto Superstar" pick...that would be a fun one!
