Around 1999, when my youngest DD (and last) was born, my FIL, whose father was a cabinet maker and woodworker by trade, started woodcrafting with his BIL. He made a kids table and 4 chairs, a lego table-yes it was amazing and 2 sets of rocking chairs. We gave a rocking chair, and the kids table to DD for our grandson- almost 3. Today, he pulled out the rocking chair and asked his Paw Paw to push the rocking chair...then he said, sing me the song "Daisy". This is an old time song my FIL used to sing to my DD and her sister when they were young. Waterworks!

I had to go look the lyrics up … my brain couldn’t find them. I used to sing this song as a kid (1950s/60s).

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do,
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you.

It won't be a stylish marriage,
I haven't got a carriage,
But you'll look sweet, up on the seat,
Of a bicycle built for two!

But you'll look sweet, up on the seat

how sweet and wonderful Sharon! Special moments :)

Oh my goodness! my mother and her sisters used to sing us this song, and I hadn't thought of it in years!

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true
I'm half-crazy over the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage
if we can't afford a carriage

but you'll look sweet upon the seat
of a bicycle built for two!

I remember a second verse, but maybe it was one our music teacher made up?

Henry, Henry, here is my answer true,
I'm not crazy over the looks of you,
If you can't afford a carriage,
Forget about the marriage,
I won't be jammed, I won't be crammed
On a bicycle built for two.

We sang that in the 90's too. Along with Tony Chestnut. Thanks for the sweet reminder!
