In defense of digi

I just wanted to share a funny conversation we had over Christmas.
My father-in-law said to me, “When you said you wanted to start scrapbooking again, I figured you would have a bunch of paper and stuff on your wish list.” To which hubby responded, “No, she does digital.” So then FIL says, “Oh, so you cheat.” And again, hubby chimes in, “No way. It’s every bit as legit as paper, it’s just less wasteful.”

I never had to say a word. My hubby did all the defending of digital all on his own! It was great and made me smile.

I love this! haha yay for hubby doing all the defending! My hubby hates using paper for anything so he's very happy I scrap digitally.

Love this. Sounds like something my hubby would do too.
YAY for digi and for hubbies!!!!!!

Yes! My hubby feels the same way. Part of his job is to help his company go "paperless".... so of course, he likes digi. Plus, he remembers my paper-scrapping days with my stuff everywhere. LOL!

I know my hubby is happy i don't take over a whole room anymore!

100%!! I can remember when I was contemplating making the switch to digi WAAAAAYYYYYY back in the day. I remember thinking how much easier it would be if I didn't have to put everything away all the time to keep it out of reach of little grabby hands (my kids were quite young and curious at the time). And hubby was super happy that I was able to dwindle down all the paper supplies that took up so much space!!

So great that you didn't even have to say a word.

My dh encouraged me to go digital. I initially tried digital scrapbooking to prove I would not like it. That was 2006. lol (Clearly, he had a good idea.)

I was so sure I wouldn't like it either! I was convinced I would mis the tactile aspects of paper scrapping. I could not have been more wrong!! :)

I have gone full circle - almost because I am not paper scrapping yet. I am playing with IRL stickers and paper all the time, but it is on planners and journaling. I have only done a handful of digital pages with past year. I am hoping MOC get me back in the groove.

I was hooked on digital from the beginning but I still have some traditional supplies. I transferred my childhood albums Mom did to new ones because those were falling apart. Also transferred a magnetic album Mom did of her teaching career to a new album. Those specifically were meant to be done with paper. It was a change working on them and I must admit that got me through a period when digi just wasn't working for me. It helped bring my digi creativity back.

I actually have 2 friends that have gone back to paper scrapping after doing digital. One stopped scrapping when she got divorced but she has since remarried and her new DH is encouraging her to get back to it. He even chose, printed and organized physical photos for her Christmas gift! She is excited about scrapping again. The other friend has been doing older photos and instead of scanning, she's just doing paper scrapping.

So yeah, digi is great but sometimes...

Yeah, scanning and using old paper photos can be a bit tricky with digital I suppose. It probably depends on the quality of your scanner and whether you have the time to scan all your pictures.

I scanned mine but it was something I enjoyed doing. Even scanned the ones I transferred to a different paper album before doing it.

That’s awesome! Love that he spoke for you and backed you up!

Once I went digi… I never went back. Wooo hooo!

Though I love paper and the creativity as well, digi just fits better for me! After paper crafting/stamping for 12 years… digi has held up for 23 years!

I understand hybrid is amazing too. I know the work that goes into your creations! Not trying to put it down. Lol!

That is so awesome that your hubby had all the right answer at the ready! That guy deserves some major gold stars!
