When do you start watching holiday movies? | Pad Patter 11.12.22

@HavaDrPepper Just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and my prayers. Losing my sis-in-law two years ago, right at our anniversary and Halloween makes the occasions feel much different so I know what you are experiencing. I'm praying specifically that you will be able to gently glide through the days, finding a piece of joy in each one. Sending love and hugs.

Here are some of my faves. I will watch Meet Me In St. Louis any time of the year, but the rest are usually not watched until mid or end of November.

And Mr. Grinch gets his own page, too:

I have a tablet by my desktop and while I scrap I like noise, so I will watch a nonsense Hallmark movie for noise!

we don't have Thanksgiving here, but our Xmas decorations usually starts on December 1st...but with Netflix, I can watch all the silly love + xmas movies !!

The Holiday is my favorit, but I also watch the Netflix cheesy ones. I usually start watching the last weekend in November, it’s when we celebrate 1st Sunday of Advent.

I have to admit, I've never seen this one....oooooo....will have to search for it!

And your layouts are fabulous! I may have to borrow them for a SM post :D

You can absolutely use the layouts. And enjoy the movie . . . let me know what you think. It is a lot of singing. LOL

I typically start watching them the day after Thanksgiving, with a few exceptions:
  1. I will watch Christmas in July on the Hallmark Channel and make fun of them, just because I love them (heroes always wear plaid shirts, right?)
  2. If I've had a really, really hard year, for example, like the year my mom passed, I spent the entire months of November & December curled on the couch, watching Christmas movies. It was the only way I could get through the season.

We usually end up watching Christmas Vacation over Thanksgiving weekend. I'm not really into the Hallmark movies, but my MIL counts down to the day they start releasing the new movies each year. It's cute. She'll usually have them on when we go visit, and I always get sucked into them. :giggle

I haven't watched Polar Express in quite a while, but that used to be my oldest son's favorite movie. We watched it A LOT and I never got tired of it. I think I'll put that on sometime soon.

After Thanksgiving. I really don't do anything big until the first weekend in December. For years it was after December 7, to separate my oldests birthday from Christmas.... but now that he is older, it's not a big deal.

I love The Polar Express and all the old timey claymation movies.

I love holiday movies, and actually I watch them along all the year. My favorite channel is Hallmark, I love Hallmark movies, I know the plot is always the same, the girl that has two loves, etc., etc., but I can't help to fall in love with those movies.

I watch them all year long whenever I'm in the mood for one! :) This year I'm looking forward to watching Matilda, the musical. I know it's not a Christmas movie but it comes out on Netflix on Christmas day :cheer I normally watch Home Alone and Elf at least once around Christmas.

Saw the new Netflix movie yesterday Falling For Christmas. It was just what you expected. Snow, family business in crisis, mistletoe and *spoiler alert* kissing.
