Since Halloween is upon us, I have to ask, do you like scary movies?

I like scary movies but not ones that are full of gore. So no Saw or Hellraiser for me. Maybe suspense is a better term to use? I remember as a child watching the very old horror movies on the Son of Svengoolie Saturday afternoons on the local station. Lots of Vincent Price.

Hubby dislikes them, so I have to watch them on my own. I think the only one that he has really watched with me was Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. And that’s really not that scary. I wanted to watch Shaun of the Dead tonite and got vetoed. I figured it would be tame enough for him.

I also really enjoyed watching AHS especially the Coven season and Asylum. It’s been awhile since I watched them so I really need to catch up on the ones I missed.

I don’t love scary movies but DH does so I watch them with him sometimes.

I do love Stranger Things though; we all do.

I like scary movies! The thrill and increase in adrenaline when a movie is actually scary remind me I'm alive.

We had Cabinet of Curiosities, a Netflix series, on in the background yesterday (was creating so only half paying attention). I may have to watch for real instead of just in the background. The last of the short stories was the best one.

All time favorite scary movies are:
The Ring (I love, love, love the imagery in these)
The Exorcist (need a rosary and bible nearby watching this one)
Pan's Labyrinth (didn't find this one super scary, the fantasy style was fantastic...was kinda sad too)
The Conjuring (my kind of scary)
Sinister (my kind of scary...I think this was the movie where my husband had his feet resting on a pillow on my lap, there was a part that made me jump and I grabbed by husband's foot and tried to hide under it...like one would grab a blanket and pull it over their head...did even realize what I had done until my husband started laughing at me)
The 6th Sense (creepy and unexpected)

Ooo...this list has me excited...gonna have to break out the scary movies for Halloween.

I love scary movies, will watch the blood and gore ones but really love the suspenseful ones. We liked It, Ma, Us, The Hunt, The Conjuring, Split,

We just went to the theater to see Smile which was fun. I would grade it as a B movie but we enjoyed it. It made me jump a few times. It reminded us of another movie in some ways - Truth or Dare.

Oldies like The Shining, The Halloween franchise, Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorcist are classics. We heard that the latest and supposedly the last Halloween movie is terrible but we don't care, we will watch it. I love Jamie Lee Curtis and need to see how they wrap up the storyline.

Not a fan of horror movies, I get nightmares.

As a kid I watched a lot of late night oldie horror movies … Pyscho, The Birds, etc. But the one that terrified me was The Screaming Skull (1958). I bought it on DVD about a decade ago … through my adult eyes it was so fake. My the 16 y.o. grandson asked me “That REALLY scared you?” “Yep buddy it did.”

Nope. Uh huh. Not unless I want sleepless nights filled with nightmares. The closest thing I'll get to a scary movie these days is Nightmare Before Christmas. I've got too much of an over-active imagination. It's hard enough for me to watch the Dementors in Harry Potter. Yes, I'm a wimp!

I did see this Health article on Newsmax: "For Some, Watching Horror Films Can Relieve Stress". I laughed and laughed when I read that headline. Watching horror films would give me more stress than I could ever want to deal with.

I have a love/hate relationship with them... when in the right mood, I love them... but if not... no way!

I haven't watched any in years, but Clara and I got on a kick of watching the Paranormal Activity series one year (maybe because I'm slightly obsessed with ghosts lol). Around that same time we watched Blair Witch and The Shining when her friend stayed with us at our cabin. We'll probably watch Blair Witch again in December because I bought the Blair Witch boxed set of mysteries to solve from Hunt a Killer as a family Christmas gift.

Oh... and she had me watch The Conjuring twice... but the second time she kept pointing out 70s blankets she wanted me to crochet for her lol! The Warrens intrigue me though.

I hate getting scared. But all the talk about scary movies on all forums right now made my brain make a stupid decision. Told hubby we were going to see Halloween this evening. First time I rewatched it, so ... like 40 years later.

Can I just say this: I truly madly deeply HATE Michael Myers! My grown-up self can see it's a kinda crappy movie, but ... I forgot to breathe, I jumped up several times, and I will probably have nightmares tonight.

I guess it's because Halloween was the first horror movie I ever saw. Michael Myers is the worst! I mean, it took me 40 years to see the movie again!

Now I need to watch something cute to wash my brain! LOL

We watched the last of the Halloween movies that week and you heard correctly. It's pretty bad plot-wise, but we watched it anyway to see it through to the end. Lol. We watched the latest three of them with our oldest who was back home from college and hadn't seen any of them yet.

I'm taking notes though. I love watching scary movies this time of year. We really loved the series Haunting of Hill house on Netflix. I might ask my hubby to watch that again, but seeing there are some other good scary movies above that we haven't watched, I may suggest some of those instead.

Nope. I do not enjoy them at all. I have to leave the room if I can even hear one playing.

Love them!! We just watched Halloween Ends this evening and I'm super disappointed that we haven't had time to get more of them in this October. It's usually our "thing" all month, but we've had too much going on!

I forgot about the sixth sense. All the little clues in it. Not going to ruin it for anyone in case someone hasn’t seen it.

I have been meaning to check out Cabinet of Curiousities

I don't like gory movies. I watch suspenseful ones, but i am cringing the entire time and when i think i'm going to get scared, i look away! I'm just a big baby, honestly!

I don't know if I am any more or not. I used to really be in to the Nightmare on Elm Street movies when they were popular. I haven't really watched many since then,
