Quick question today.

Do you prefer printed books, e-books, or audiobooks?

I’m a slow reader so I prefer listening to audiobooks at 2x speed. I have never been able to read in the car because I get carsick so I love that I can “read” in the car now!

I'm not a fan of audio books. I do like to listen to podcasts, but with books I tend to let my mind wander more and miss lots of details that I wouldn't if I was reading from a book or e-book.

I still love holding a book in my hand. I love finding good books for cheap at thrift stores, estate sales, and garage sales. I'd say about 75% of the time I'm holding a book and the other 25% I'm reading from my Kindle app on my phone, tablet, or Kindle Paperwhite/Fire.

Most of the time, I read on my iPad these days. My e-reader died and I haven't got around to replacing it yet, although I much prefer the "paper" view on the e-readers. I usually have one regular book on the go which I read before I go to bed but I only manage a chapter or so a day so it takes me a while to finish those.

I love real books, but I simply read too many, too fast and don't have space for them. So I mostly borrow eBooks from my county's library system and read on my Nook. I also find holding my Nook easier than holding a paper/hardback book. Plus borrowing books saves me $.

I will happily read any form of book. However, I will comprehend and retain more information from visual media than audio.

Lately, e-book and audio books. I need a new pair of bifocals. E-books - I can change the font size so I can see without getting dizzy. Audio - perfect for mowing the lawn or doing other mindless chores.

I still adore print magazines though and buy plenty from the Stampington line.

When I commuted, I LOVED to listen to audiobooks. Get stuck in traffic - no problem! The longer I'm in my car, the longer I can listen...haha!

My mind definitely wanders sometimes with audio books haha that’s why I can’t listen to them while I scrap.

I’m sorry your e-reader died. I’ve never used an e-reader but the “paper” view sounds nice.

Borrowing eBooks from the library is the best! I’m very thankful my local library has a great selection of books.

I like that you don’t play favorites Michele. I can’t decide if I retain more from visual or audio.

I collected books for years and had bookcases full of them. I still have some books, but mostly I read on my Kindle. I have access to 800+ books on there.

Adjustable font size is a definite bonus of E-books; large print books are way too big to carry! And I totally agree that traffic is much more tolerable when listening to audiobooks.

I prefer reading on a Kindle or tablet using the Kindle app these days. I've even used the Kindle app for Windows as well. The Kindle/tablet are a lot easier to hold... actually the Pillow Pad holds them quite nicely. If a book isn't available as an e-book, I will read a paper version. I do still have quite a few books in my house, some I've had for years but never read! Had a subscription to The Literary Guild many years ago so got hardback books.

I can't do audio books because of my hearing issues. If I want to listen to a podcast, I have to use the computer with the good speakers.

Isn’t it amazing how many books are accessible on devices now?! I love it.

I like using the Kindle app too. I’ve never had a book subscription but I think it would be fun.
