I am not sure what to do with myself. Both Facebook and Instagram are down! I guess I'm learning just how addicted I am to refreshing my feeds and looking at photos on Instagram! It's kind of strange since the whistleblower was on "60 Minutes" last night, all of the sudden they're down?? Is anyone else having withdrawal symptoms?
I read that on a ABC news website that they went down right after it was noted that the whistleblower came forward around 11:42 EDT in the US.
Pretty telling. I didn't watch the show so I don't know what she "blew" about Facebook. Must have been pretty bad for them to shut down to what - cover their tracks or get rid of damning evidence?
I saw a report that says they went down not longer after some kind of changes made to the Border Gateway Protocol (which works to allowing routing information to be exchanged online). Story states those changes caused it to "disappear" from the internet. Guess I won't be getting many birthday wishes on FB today. LOL
I am going to try and scrap some as soon as I walk the doggos and get Melissa set up for school. It's our anniversary today and I need to make reservations for dinner at the local sushi place that Michael loves. I made a stupid mistake last night and used the wrong card for my dr. appointment and now we have 100.00 less this month. He was not happy with me last night. Happy Anniversary, eh? LOL
Aw, hun - Happy Birthday!!!!! It's our 24th Anniversary today - no sappy mushy post for him from me this year I guess!
I read that it was a DNS (Domain Name Server) issue that caused the outage. I have tried to limit my time on social media, so I'm not as freaked out as I suspect I would have been in the past. Still, I was really enjoying Digital Scrapbooking Day weekend, all the chatter and layouts and such, so I hope they come back up so I can enjoy it more. As the owner of a small business that uses these sites for customer contact and contact with my team, it's frustrating.
