Hi everyone and welcome to Week 2 of the Muse challenge for May. Week 2 - Colour Following on from Lisa's fabulous challenge last week, this week challenge it's all about the colour palette used for this inspiration board. There really are some yummy colours, the washed out apricot/peach tones, the soft greys and subdues whites are so gorgeous. As soon as I saw this board I thought of Nicole's Dear Diary collection and that is what I used in the main part for my layout. The photo is of my eldest granddaughter from 2008. Her mother at the time was really into photography and she used do a lot photo shoots with Grace and of course I was thrilled! I absolutely adored these photos in particular and as soon as I saw the inspiration board I thought of this photo, with the angel wings. I kept to the softer tones and because I love texture I also added some of those as well! lol! Credits can be found in the gallery. So the challenge this week is choose one, some or all of the colours in the inspiration board, I am really really looking forward to seeing what you creative ladies will do with it!! You may create any style of layout (ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc.) you wish, with or without a photo. Create any size page you wish. This is for everyone, so have fun and see where the inspiration takes you. Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE prior to May 31, 2021 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code". We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! As Lisa mentioned last week, every layout you create is equal to one entry in the random draw. So if you create 1 layout you are entered once, if you create 4 layouts you are entered 4 times. You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines). Looking forward to see your layouts!!
I love color challenges and this is a great one! I haven't made a layout yet. I made a color swatch and searched the TLP store for coordinating kits. I thought I'd share these here with you for a bit of inspiration. My palette: Okay. I'm stopping here or I'll be in the shop all night
@ArmyGrl heehee!! yes, time sorta stops still when I get in the store, all those yummy things to look at! what a great selection of goodies!
I Found This Challenge Very Confusing?...I Looked At All The Layouts Here In The Thread!...They're All Wonderful!...But I Got Confused Even More?...Some Stuck To The General Colors That I Saw In The Inspired Color Board/Photo To Choose From...And Others Added More Colors! That Are Not Visible To Me!...So I Looked At The Color Swatch That Lisa Posted...& Chose 2 Colors From That...Teal & Coral Pink...Hopefully I Understood The Rules This Time Around!... *For My Happy To Get Outside Layout-I Used A Bevy Of May's 2021 BYOC Collections : Plus 2 Other Non-BYOC Kits: *Why Not?-Pink Reptile Designs *Art Crush No.39-NBK Design *True And Free-Rachel Jefferies *Never Take For Granted-Lynn Grieveson *Stampalicious:Look Deep Into Nature Set 2-Templates-Rachel Jefferies *Messy Marks-Dates 2021-Rachel Jefferies *Vintage Flowers Bits1-Part Of The Bundle-Paula Kesselring
I'm thinking we, the hosts, need a reword. Our intent is to inspire, not provide strict rules that have to be followed. While we hope all keep to the intent of the challenge, if the inspiration leads one 180 degrees in the opposite direction, so be it! Journal on! You my dear, nailed the color challenge!!!
