Okay ladies, you have to HELP me! I seem to keep passing my days doing next to nothing that would count as productive. Today, for example, I took the kids to school, ate breakfast, watched a show on my dvr, watched Regis & Kelly (this is something very new for me... don't know why I keep getting drawn in), then watched E! while I scrapbooked for a few hours. Ate lunch, took a shower, then researched cell phones (as it is time for me to get a new one). Picked the kids up from school, and now I'm here. So tell me WHAT about that day has been productive? Aaah!!

HELP! HOW DO I MAKE MYSELF DO STUFF? I'm a pressure player, so if there's no pressure, I just don't DO anything. (aka, I am horrible at time management!) :helpy

OMGosh, haha Rebecca! Well, I took the kids to school, went to work, thought about all of the stuff I had to do at home, while bored at work. Man, I wish I had an answer :) I worry about what I would do if I were home. I'd probably mess around all day too :) but man, that's a way better deal then going to work :rofl

Scrapping is productive ;) Link us up to your pages so we can see all your productivity!

LOL - sounds like a good day to me! I definitely know what you mean though. Since I've never been a very time-driven person, I realized that in order to be a "productive" SAHM, I had to make a general schedule for myself. For example, wash clothes on Monday and Thursday. Go grocery shopping on Friday. Etc, etc. I pretty much have all the major tasks assigned to a specific day...as long as I get that "big thing" done for the day, I call myself productive. :) Hope that helps...it certainly allows for watching tv and scrapping with no guilt.

1. you scrapped so it's a good day.
2. how long does it take to research an iphone? ;)
3. you are breakfast, on my lazy days i forget to eat!

been there. done that. that was kind of my day today. :giggle no wait...i did unload and reload the dishwasher and put a couple of loads of laundry on (they still need to be folded and put away mind you...but they are clean). i still have boxes to unpack from the move. for some reason i'd rather scrap. :tu

oooh yes, i always get sucked in to the computer at just looking at nothing, its pathetic really how much time i waste. So when i want to be productive the computer has to be turned off LOL

okay so at least i'm not the onlly one. i HAVE to get my act together though, or hubby is gonna kick me out & get a job! lol! seriously though, one day like that every now & then is okay but i've had more than my share lately. i just can't seem to get myself motivated for grown-up stuff!

by the way heather, i STILL don't even know which phone i want! haaaa

I can totally relate. I have worked all my adult life but just became a SAHM at the start of the summer. I have definitely been challenged to feel productive and still do the fun stuff I want to do, like scrapping. I really felt guilty if I had too much fun since DH has to go to work, and he hates his job at the moment. And it is so easy to get sucked into the computer. I bought a planner/calendar type book that was organized by week. Each week I make a list of the things I want to get done and work from there. That seemed to keep my more focused but still left time for the scrapping. I also signed up for classes twice a week and volunteered at the library. Then my old job requested my help for a couple weeks, so I am swamped. I am missing those leisure days, so you might want to enjoy them, they may not last. LOL.

lol sounds like me! Turn off the computer and TV! Then stuff gets done and yo can reward yourself with the computer and TV! lol

Oh that sounds EXACTLY like me. I waste soo much time its not even funny. And I'm not even getting pages done, I'm just faffing around. I'm in the middle of a bit of a crochet addiction at the moment, so I do that quite a bit but at least that's getting hats and mittens made for my kids :). The rest of it is just utter time-wasting like checking forums, blogs and stuff.

I tried giving myself a weekly schedule but I never stick to it. I'm getting a little better at fitting exercise into my routine, but the housework stuff just doesn't seem to stick. I'm really, really, really bad at keeping on top of the grocery shopping. I MUST go today otherwise we're not eating!

i am just like this .... i waste a lot of time and at the end of the day i'm surprised when nothing is done :( i really need to put myself on a tight schedule and limit my computer time until i get unpacked, at the very least!

and - hahaha - i agree - stop researching phones :) i love my iphone :)

Oh and you def want the iphone :giggle

i have to stay with verizon. i'm actually on my mom's plan as an extra line for like $10/month instead of the regular $70/month or whatever. but our contract renewal times are staggered, so they are still in their contract for another 6 months... but i need a new phone! plus, we talked about switching, and we both decided that verizon works best for us right now.

but yeah, i've drooled over that iphone from a distance... i don't dare get too close, or i'll go into overload. :giggle

i am really leaning toward the samsung fascinate... anyone have any feedback on it? or the droid incredible? idunno... dh is my techy, but he's not here.

ya, so another day of nothing much is currently in progress...

so far i've returned a rug to target & shopped. i DID get groceries, and have started one load of laundry. I'm counting that. I have to or I'll have to start feeling really guilty. :)

ah that sucks you only have one provider to chose from. Here in Canada you can get the iphone through any of the 3 major cell phone dealers. No idea as far as other phone's go. We went from blackberry's to the iphone's

oh and you've done more than me, all i've done is got my kids ready for school, fed them, drove them to the bus and scrapped LOL but its only 11

Hey I consider a productive day to be eat, get kids where they need to be when they need to be there, maybe one or two cleaning chores a day, and some computer time. In my eyes you are being productive! ;) In all reality though it is hard to balance it and not get too sucked in! I always tell myself to do at least one productive thing before I sit back down at my computer. My hubby gets very annoyed now if I spend too much of my day on my computer, so I can relate.

well i managed to pull a bit of productivity out of my back end :giggle i did a few loads of laundry, went grocery shopping, did the garbage, and a general clean-up of the house, plus loaded & ran the dishwasher. i feel a lot better about today than i did about yesterday. unfortunately, i think this is gonna be an ongoing struggle for me.
