So me and my fiancee have been planning our wedding. We are for sure thinking fall 2022.. so next year!! time for us to same up some money and get the wedding of our dreams!
I have been looking at vendors and getting a plan in place. This is not my first wedding.. as I have been married before.. yet this is his first.

My mom and I are pretty sure we found the perfect venue. It is a local park center.. and beyond beautiful and cheap for the whole weekend rental! (that way we can set up the night before and have a rehersel and clean up next day)

My sister in law is a professional wedding dress designer and will be helping with my dress. It will be very lacey and champayne in color

I have 5 brides maids (my two daughters are maids of honors, my sister, my two closest friends)

Eric asked my son to be his best man.. and his two sisters are going to be "groomsmaids"
and he may ask his brother in law. we are not sure yet

We are thinking of doing BBQ dinner for supper.. with cheap sides from Sam's club like pasta salad and potato salad.. fruits and veggies Mom and I may make a lot of the food ourselves to save on catering. We don't want a cake, but cupcakes and maybe cheap other deserts like mini cheesecakes or pies.

I am doing all my own flowers and ccenter pieces... I was already donated a bunch of wood cut out pieces by a friend... and have a pinterest a mile long of ideas..

so far this is my mood board

It sounds like you've got great plans. I think they are wonderful. Your day will be lovely. I'm so excited for you and your fiancé. My daughter got married a year ago, February 2020 right before the pandemic began. She allowed me to make the wedding arch. I had so many yards of three different sheer fabrics. One with glitter. The arch took up my entire living room floor. There was glitter everywhere. I had my drill out and accidentally kicked it. I thought, ouch and kept working. I go into my kitchen and when I returned, the living room looks like a glitter party CSI crime scene. Blood and glitter everywhere. I finally finish it. My daughter and her fiancé go to make the final payment at the venue and they call me on their way home. No glitter allowed or they will charge $50.00 extra. I have to take all that fabric off and replace it. At least, it's a funny story.

That's a lovely mood board, Kari. I love how gender stereotypes are being broken for weddings. My daughter was the Best Woman at my son's wedding last June.

Sounds like you have some fun plans already in place!! And lots of time to get everything done. I love the mood board, great ideas there! Will Neelix have something special for the day too?

We have debated back and forth to have Neelix involved... more than likely he will be celebrating from afar ....but he will be involved in the engagment photos and we have a special reading at the wedding on how love is like owning a dog..and we will have photos up at wedding with his fuzzy face

It sounds like it is coming together and that you have lots of help. We did the bbq thing at my daughters wedding and it was great! Looking forward to your pages afterwards!

Oh wow.. You should at least scrap that story! I hope you have a few photos of the glitter :) I understand the $50 extra.. glitter sticks to everything. I bet it took a long time to get rid of it from your living room :) When we get cards at the house with glitter it makes me crazy as it sticks to everything. Glad you had a funny story to tell now, after the fact.

@dotcomkari Sounds wonderful! My brother's second wedding was more down to earth as well and it was really lovely. The Church was one of those old ones from the 1800's and was very small and the reception was comfy in my sister in law's mother's backyard. All her friends (her mother's friends) made dishes and they had a traditional southern wedding reception... Boy those ladies could really cook. It was inexpensive and it was all about my sister in law and brother as opposed to all the expensive stuff for show. It was really beautiful and we all had a wonderful time, celebrating them and with them. I made their invitations that my Sister in Law got printed at office depot and it was really beautiful. They had a table with photos of the parents (her Dad and my parents were passed), as well as our grandparents and that was on the table with the guest book.

Your mood board is lovely Kari and those colors are fantastic.. love it! I think your plans sound perfect!

so exciting.
My mum was a wedding dress designer when I got married, so she made my dress. I'm looking forward to seeing what your sister-in-law creates for you.

exciting! i love the mood board colors! my brother & fiancé are planning a fall wedding too. very small - outside. they are not doing cake either. i haven't seen their colors yet though. but like you - they are trying to do a lot of it themselves too!

Wow I love you mood board, the fall colours are beautiful. I got married in August 2019 just before pandemic hit. I loved planning my wedding and creating my mood board, we went for autumn colours as well. We had Navy suits, my dress was blush although it looked more champagne, Burgundy bridesmaid dresses then had Burgundy and dusty pink flowers.

I am slowly in the process of scrapping my wedding photographs so I can get an album printed.

Oooh... I love your mood board! A fall wedding sounds lovely, especially outside at a park! I think it would be amazing and also a double edged sword to plan a wedding in the age of Pinterest. I probably would go crazy trying to make all the cool things on there!

Sounds like it will be lovely!! My daughter got married in May 2019 and they had groomsmaids and bridesmen too!! I loved that they each had their siblings of all genders standing with them!!

Huggles!!
~Sarah~
