Worth Making from Scratch | Pad Patter 3.4

I do make a lot of things, but my next project is going to be a German chocolate cake with German chocolate frosting for my sister's birthday. The recipe sounds involved, so I have to wonder how good store bought could be. I hope she likes it because it is her favorite.
 
Spaghetti Sauce
Cornbread
Mac & Cheese
mashed potatoes
Any cakes and brownies
HOMEMADE PUDDING - for sure!
Bread some of the time
Pimiento Cheese

But I have an even longer list of things I make using shortcut mixes!

Oh homemade German Chocolate Cake is so worth it! And not really that complicated.
I make it every year for my now 93 year-old father-in-law for his birthday.
 
Chocolate Chip Cookies. I hate anything pre-made. Now that I've tons of restrictions it meant trying to find something that works, and I've yet to find that perfect recipe. It's hard finding something good that's gluten, nut, soy, dairy, and egg free! I've a bunch of recipes yet to try so I should get back on it, because I LOVE my chocolate chip cookies!

I thought, "Wow!" when I printed the recipe which was a solid two pages of ingredients and instructions. You're right--it probably isn't that bad. I've just never had to cook frosting.
 
I make everything apart from cake from scratch, (even chips ) we don't have allergies, but I am picky about what things "ought " to taste like. And Hubby grows a lot of veg,so I batch cook...
