We started our spooky season a couple of weeks ago. If you come in our house there will likely be a creepy movie or show playing somewhere. Chance and I are watching an episode a night of The Haunting of Hill House and we're on season 2. Scary movies and shows are my favorite! But they have to be scary, not gory. I haven't gotten out the Halloween decorations just yet because we've been so tied up with homecomings and weddings, but I may still do that. Mine used to be pretty elaborate, when I had a bit more time on my hands.

Is it spooky season at your house?
Do you enjoy scary movies?
Do you do Halloween decorations?

Spooky season all the year at my house!! I love the feeling, I love halloween, even if it's not really a thing here in Italy, but I think it's because all the american movies/tv shows I watched since I can remember :)
And I love scary movies, but like you said not the splatter ones, those are just 'eeeewww!!?', I like the ones when what you don't see is scarier than what they show you :)
Oooooh, and I really liked 'the Haunting of Hill House', great story, great scenography, good actors, all those shadows and creepy figures hidden in a lot of scenes!! Did you notice them?

I watched it a couple of years ago when it first came out and didn't know about the hidden ghosts until after, so I went back to look for them. I caught a lot of them this time around! Have you seen any of the new season yet? It's a little slower starting than the first, still pretty creepy, but I hear it gets better. We are only on episode 4 tonight.

I don't like scary movies at all, but love to decorate for Halloween. Living in a temporary home this year - most of my decorations are still packed, but I've found a few of them. I bought mums and pumpkins today and they're lining my front steps (more fall than Halloween, I guess). I picked up a bunch of sticks off the ground today and made some decorations with them and some of my Halloween pumpkins.

Nope, we don't do spooky or halloween.
It's birthday season at my house, hubby and DD will be 21!
So much to celebrate.

Jan when you say season 2 of Haunting of Hill house... are you talking about the Bly Manor show? It totally confused me at first when my hubby and I started watching and I made him pause the first episode to ask him why some of the characters from the first season now had English accents and he said it's not even related. It's just made by the creators of Hill House. I think that's super confusing to have the same actors, the same theme, but have it be a completely different show. And it was distracting to me until I knew they weren't related because I kept looking for clues to tie them all together.

All this to say, yes! We like spooky at our house this time of year and we are almost done with the Bly Manor show... we will finish it tonight. It's not as good as Hill House, but still has some good creepy bits. :agree

I love Halloween but not the scary part. I am cutsie Halloween with Mickey and Minnie and great shows like The Witches and Hocus Pocus. I can’t do much truly scary. I have some Halloween Minnie ears I always wear on Halloween.

Nope, not into Halloween around here. About the only thing I will do for the season is watch the local Halloween parade to see the kids in costumes. But, even that isn't as much fun because of all the political promotions done during it. If it is too cold, I just watch it on TV. The local cable provider has a local channel they will show things on (did 3 football games this fall).

This year there will be no parade. Instead the "parade" is being set up at the fairgrounds and if you want to view it, you can go and drive through to see everything.

Yes, Bly Manor! They billed it as Hill House season 2 all along, so I totally expected it to follow the same characters. And I agree, totally confusing that it's the same actors, but different people lol. We are up to episode 4 tonight. I would watch more episodes at a time, but that's all I can get Chance to sit with me haha.

I thought I had read the same thing too about it being a season 2 after the first one ended. Maybe they were going to and then couldn't think about how to make that work or something. I guess that had to capitalize on the popularity of the first show however they could. Lol. We finished the last episode last night. I'd love to hear how you like the whole thing when you finish.

No scary movies here. I can’t handle them but we do love funny Halloween movies like private eyes, hocus pocus, Abbott and Costello meet the mummy, etc. we also love watching food network Halloween shows - Halloween wars, Halloween baking championship.

I used to decorate more for Halloween but we’re doing a big remodel this year and I’ve lost my mojo. We’ll probably just carve some pumpkins and put out the big blowup spider closer to Halloween for the trick or treaters.

Definitely not. I don't "get" people enjoying being scared by haunted houses, movies, decorations, etc. We just don't do those things. My son is a huge scaredycat, especially about spiders, so even if I liked those things, I still wouldn't do them in deference to him.

We do dress up for Halloween and do Zoo Boo, trick or treat, etc. but the Curious George Halloween movie is our level of spooky here. :)

Is it spooky season at your house? - unfortunately, i should be used to spiders & bugs being inside, because they don't seem to be seasonal and we don't use pesticides so the local 'they adopted us' lizards & bird families don't get sick from eating them so it's really always spooky season to me!
Do you enjoy scary movies? - psychological thrillers and implied scary i've gotten better with but gory, nope, can't!
Do you do Halloween decorations? - nope, never carved a pumpkin either

My 6-year old looked at our neighbor's decorations (spider webs..wheel barrow of zombies and all the gore..big red "help me" sign sprayed on window) and said, "Mommy, our house is boring." lol!! I don't do the decorations thing. If it ain't functional, I'm probably not buying and then I will have to worry about where to store it all. Not worth it.

Scary movies have never scared me. My husband and daughter have been watching a few. I just can't get into them and my son thinks scary is funny.
