I've been looking through old photos again (like I'm sure we all do often) and for a good two years at least in many of my son's pics, he is wearing a superhero costume of some kind - he would wake up and dress himself and i'd just find Batman sitting on the lounge on a Saturday morning. He went back to that earlier this year for a bit and wore the mask and shell of a Ninja Turtle for a few days (yes, we still have a dress-up box and it has come in handy with DD's various drama scenes in the last few years). He didn't wear it to the shops like he would his Batman or Spiderman suit but it was good to see because he was happy.

I don't think I ever wore anything like that myself as a kid, unless we had to for Book Week (we didn't have Halloween) and my daughter was the same really, she had a few princess dress-up weeks but it was a very short period compared to DS's dress up phase (that usually i would instigate for photos lol)

So were you a costume kid?
Or did your kids wear costumes as 'normal clothes'?

This isn't me or DS obviously but seriously the best superhero image google just found me, if not the most convincing photoshop effort

That's an awesome superhero photo haha

I've never been big on dressing up, and neither have my kids. They love dressing up for Halloween, though, and so do I.

Costumes were too expensive for us when the kids were small and we don't do Halloween so no costumes for us.
My daughter did love her lipstick and clippy cloppy shoes though - if that counts?

All of kids dressed up often. Only my son went a step further and came up with a name, Markieno. He claims he does not remember, but I think it related to our cat, Domino. Picture is scanned from a traditional scrapbook.

My grandson wore a Batman outfit, a cape and mask for well over a year. I got him 3 of them because the cape would always get ragged. He wore that costume everywhere we went. He "channeled" Batman - he actually acted like him. He was obsessed with everything Batman. I still love all of the pictures I took of him during his "Batman period". I got him "Blue Batman" but he always preferred the black costume.

As a grandma, I would go to Target after Halloween and stock up on costumes at 90% off. I kept a box of costumes which the kids wore every week during their “grandma day”. I think Connor’s favorite was a ghost. Alex liked Snow White. I miss those fun times.

My youngest lived in costumes when he was 3-4 years old - Buzz Lightyear, Spiderman, Batman - never knew who was going to come out of his room in the mornings. He wore them everywhere!

I love that he took it to the next level with a name! (My kids call our bird, George, the Grey Shadow when he does his swoop that looks like Batman's decent from the top of cupboards at night, I can't remember if that name was borrowed from some superhero comic, it makes me think of the Flash universe)

I knew there'd be othetr kids that were hero obsessed! I have several similar pics to these, especially that first one.
There was a Blue Batman?! I think DS only had greys & black for Batman but I know what you mean about the ragged cape. I remember those onesie style costumes being a pain when we had to find a bathroom quick!

That's a huge discount! Smart grandma & yep I know what you mean!

Oh if we'd had Buzz, I don't think DS woulda took it off. (He watched Toy Story 3 countless times, just the first part (because attention span) & called it' Buzz save Woody from the Train', not quiet as catchy but it was a fun age).

Yes, there was a Blue Batman. Asher told me the difference, but I don't remember. LOL I'll post a picture shortly.

he may have been from Batman the Brave and the Bold tv show, now i think about it, DS had a much loved t-shirt with a blue batman on it

I've never been interested in costumes, but when my middle child was 3 they spent most of their time in the Snow White dress. They've always been my only child really interested in clothes, let alone costumes. And now they are a cosplayer. :D

Maybe. I've been looking and Asher is sound asleep - he would know. LOL Maybe Arkham - I found quite a few blue Batmans and he also had a yellow belt. I couldn't find the pictures I was looking for - he never cared much for the blue Batman suit, so I don't have a lot of pictures. These are the only ones I could find right off the bat. LOL (Pun intended)

Lol Good one!
I can't find the pictures I'm looking for. I got him a full suit - with a kind of head covering. He never like it. He said it was "too tight". I thought he'd go crazy over it. You never know. Hahaha
