May 2019 Challenge
Each month I host a different Mixed Media Challenge :clap

This month we are using some behind the scenes art studio inspirations to create your layout!

Have a little peek into my Art Studio and use it as inspiration to create your May page.

I have a new short video that I recently shared on my Instagram account, Facebook page and via e-mail to my Newsletter Subscribers. And here are some screenshots of other behind the scenes things and creations from my Studio I've shared in the past.

Use one of these, or several of the Images/Video to inspire a new Mixed Media page for May. If you are a bit stuck here are some ideas of how you could draw inspiration from what I've shared here for your May Page:

Challenge Requirements:
  • Where possible challenge layouts must use 100% of Rachel Jefferies Designs currently available at my TLP store (Collaborations including my Mixed Media Monthly Subscription Kits and Add Ons are also ok!). The exception to this is retired products that were previously for sale at TLP. A few elements here or there from other products that were previously available prior to my retirement may be used.
  • Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP
  • Please also reply to this thread for your challenge entry to be counted, with the image of your finished layout linked to the gallery.
  • No double dipping for other challenges, I'd like to see brand new pages
  • The challenge will be open through May and I'll pick a random participant to win a $10 coupon to my shop and announce this when the June challenge is posted.
  • It would be helpful when posting your page in this thread that you note you are eligible for the New Release Bonus Entry (see below) and you make a note of which May 2019 New Release you used. This would make it faster for me cross checking all the entries when making the random draw for winners!

It feels great to scrap with fresh new releases, if you are scrapping with a product released during May 2019 you'll bag yourself a bonus entry for an extra chance to win a coupon should you not be the $10 coupon winner. One winner from the bonus entries will be picked from random to win a $6 coupon to my shop.

New Release Bonus Entry May 3 Here and Now Kit. I did a photoless page trying to incorporate some of the other subjects I was inspired with.

 
I tried to incorporate as many of the inspiration ideas as I could and when I put all the florals together it made a little abstract family at the edge of a forest (or maybe I am a little abstract from looking at the computer for too long)
Anyway ideas used - theme (of course), paper pieces, photo-less, collage technique, colour scheme (overlay to bring it all together), inked illustrations, floral / foliage Inspired, composition (balance) and book paper.

I love it when a challenge lets me play with some of the elements I've so loved, but seldom use. I pulled out a lot of them from Rachel's goodies for this layout of the fading cattails from last year as they make way for the new growth. I was inspired by the gelli-printing I saw in the video. I did some IRL gelli-printing awhile back, scanned the results, and only today, used two of my papers (blended), then blended the photo into them. Thank you so much for the challenge.

I've been wanting to participate in your challenges for awhile now and finally set some time aside to get a page done. I started with the collage technique and added paper pieces and layered paint. Also, I used your may release, Here and Now. Thanks for the fun challenge!
 
Well, in this art journal page, I was inspired by practically everything on the list...AND by the awesome pages created by the CT. When I saw those, I hopped right over to the Store, and bought the You Are Magical kit at that incredible price. (I think that may qualify me for the bonus?!). I love Rachel's art as a jump-off point for AJ. I LOVE the colors in this kit, and even moved copies of everything to my Drop Box so I could use the kit on my iPad with ProCreate (which is where I made this LO).
