Why it Works | Ombre or Color Blocking

Thanks for the inspiration, @jenn mccabe ! I used a mix of color blocking/ombre/rainbow and showcased aqua, blue, teal, dark green, lighter green, sage, yellow-green, yellow and yellow-orange papers for this page about my daughter's classes this school year. Her schedule was printed on green paper, so I wanted to find a way to help it blend with the page's colors a bit. My template was not so much a geometric one, as just paper pieces in strips, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

O.K....I Feel Like Such A Dumb ***...But Everytime I Visit This Thread...I Still Can't Figure Out What The Heck "OMBRE" Means???????????????...Please Explain To Those Of Us(ME...)...Probably The Only Dumb *** Here Who Doesn't Know What OMBRE Means/Is...Sorry...Please Excuse My :crazy3...Thanks RJ...

RJMJ- don't feel dumb! Ombre is a type of color blocking, in a gradient from light to dark (or dark to light). For an example- this paper could depict ombre-see how the top right is really pale yellow- almost white and as the color moves down the page and to the left it deepens to a dark yellow?

Or, this paper also shows a form of ombre- See how the color fades from the darkest at the top to the lighter at the bottom? Generally, in scrapbooking, when one talks about ombre, one refers to one color fading from dark to light or light to dark.

I had to do another one for this thread after I took photos of my daughter for Homecoming and she was wearing crimson while her good friend wore bright red- so I searched for lots of shades of pink, red, burgandy, etc-
