Curious minds want to know...

Do you have a favorite laundry detergent? Make your own (if you do, I'd love the recipe)?
Pods, powder, or liquid?
How about fabric softener or dryer sheets?
Do you buy those scent boosters to add to the machine?

My go-to is usually original Gain, detergent and softener. I just love the scent! But I will buy others depending on sales. I go back and forth between pods and liquid and sometimes I use dryer sheets in addition to softener in the wash. I don't buy the scent boosters because I am a tight wad and can't justify the price :giggle. But I did just recently see a recipe for a homemade version of that as well.

Can you tell what I'm doing this morning? :laundrynaughty :laundry

I usually use Wegman's brand "free and clear" liquid detergent in the huge bottle that lasts about half the year. A couple times I've gotten Giant's brand of the same though, but their largest bottle isn't quite as huge so I prefer Wegmans. I don't use fabric softeners and I hate artificial fragrances added to anything.

I tried out Arm and Hammer detergent recently and I am not a fan. I feel like it is leaving a white residue on some of our clothes... our washer is only 5ish months old and other detergents don’t do this... so I am going to have to go back to something else.

Anyhow I like pods but not the price of them. I use liquid detergent and when I remember I add a lavender scent booster that I love... but I don’t often remember. And I stopped using dryer sheets a few years ago.

I use Tide pods. I'm back to using Bounce unscented dryer sheets. I really liked the Bounce bars that were a solid that you stuck onto the side of the dryer. They lasted for months. But apparently they didn't go over well and were discontinued. :(

soap nuts

Ok..so I had never heard of soap nuts so I Googled it...interesting!

We use Method liquid in the pump bottles. Super concentrated and I like the refill bags you can buy.

I use wool dryer balls with lavender oil sprinkled on them.

I had to check that out, too. I hadn't heard of Method.

Ok, I need a bottle that lasts half the year!!

I used to use Arm and Hammer some when there were 5 of us here and tons of laundry because it was cheaper. But I agree about the white residue and I never felt like it got my clothes really clean. I'm with you on the price of the pods. I usually only buy them if I catch a good sale.

I remember those bars. I never tried them, but I know others that loved them.

I use powder ... either ALL or Surf and I use dryer sheets.

I used to use Surf years ago. I had forgotten about it!

We're Gain lovers here, too. Wonderful scent. We use pods, fabric softener, those "pellets" and dryer sheets.

Gain is my favorite. I usually only stray away if I find something else good that's on sale. But then I always use the Gain fabric softener so I still get the scent :)

Do you have a favorite laundry detergent? Gain original. LOVE the smell

Pods, powder, or liquid? PODS

How about fabric softener or dryer sheets? No fabric softener, but I do use dryer sheets. Gain scented of course. LOL

Do you buy those scent boosters to add to the machine? Nope. The Gain has a great smell all on its own!

I think they're all different here, I was using Biozet powder (which my phone wants to auto correct to Boozer-that would b a hilarious name for a laundry powder !) but switched to a junk shop half the price one recently, as long as its not stinky, it's all good.
I'm fanatical about softener, DH has told me that apparently a large percentage of people don't use it now, like kids that have moved out of home & the current generation, like gen Y etc but it's a must here, the front loader is a great space saver but the old top loader didn't seem to zap the softness from clothes so much, ( gosh I'm sounding so old ATM! ) & we also use wind & sun to dry clothes outside so I use dryer sheets to dust the skirting boards quickly (I didn't know they existed til someone here mentioned them a few years ago)

Gain girl here too, in pods, but I also get a booster for my boys...Oxi clean booster and Shout stain remover for their necks on dress shirts LOL
I love the downy beads for blankets. Especially if they are going to be stored. They come out months laters, fresh! highly recommend for blankets. I wash my throw blankets and pillows from living room and oh they just smell heavenly.
Gain dryer sheets too, a must in the dry desert and high electricity.

I need to try this!!

Also Gain here, but I like the Aloha one or the one with febreeze in it, then I buy the matching softener and add way too much of both and I use dryer sheets on top of that, like 3 at a time .... I am aware I have issues lol

Ah laundry....

I have used SA8 soap from Amway for 27+ years. I found out about 20 years ago that I am allergic to strong fragrances, especially the types found in drier sheets like Bounce. I break out in a poison ivy type rash that itches like crazy. Took me a long time to figure out that it was not poison ivy.

My son uses Old Spice everything and the one time I threw my shorts in with his clothes, I broke out from the fragrance transfer that happened in the wash.

I used the plastic drier balls for a long time, but recently switched to the wool ones. I also started using Purification essential oil on them. I also use some in the washer for my towels and sheets.

Tide pods, vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser, and a dozen wool balls in the dryer. (Eleven now, because the dog thinks the dryer is a gumball machine and ran off with one. LOL I keep a closer eye on him now!)

a dozen wool balls in the dryer

You're my hero! :-) I had eight... but my daughter took four for her dryer downstairs. That leaves me four, but I rarely know where all four are at any given time.... they roll away when I take things out of the dryer. I need to get more... love those things!
